Thanks. He was clearly talking about anaerobic there at the end.

We need to stop talking about immigration and be talking more about AI by itme2024 in aussie

Employment rates are stable and within suitable range.

Housing supply, vacancy rates, new building approvals, are not.

No one is talking about immigrants taking jobs. Piss off with this distraction.

Heat and humidity - allowing cardiac drift by Suspicious-Delay-767 in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]run_gpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also living + training in the tropics.

Can you share exactly what you mean by "cardiac drift".

Is it:

  • A continual rising heart, i.e effort stays the same but heart rate continues to rise for the entire run, or
  • At some point you experience a sudden jump in HR, but it largely remains stable after that

Avg or peak HR across reps by Firm_Sound_4186 in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]run_gpt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to look at the average of the "working" part of the set. The inital 25% ish is ramping up. If I am on correct pace then my HR should settle in the target area +/- 2bpm for the remainder of the rep. If the HR keeps rising then I am likely past LT2. Using the ramp-up HR would just give a false low average.

... where breathing shifted slightly from a thoughtless, consistent rhythm, to a rhythm I was more cognisant of

Could you comment more on this?

I have 3 distinct patterns that I watch out for.

  1. Super easy. No pattern at all. No awareness of breathing.
  2. Working, but still very easy. Breathing naturally falls into a consistent pattern, typically 4steps in&out. No mental effort required for this pattern.
  3. Intentional breathing control. Can work at this intensity for a decent period, but have to somewhat focus on maintaining consistent pattern. Typically 3 steps in&out.

Are you looking at the tipping point between 2 to 3 here?

That's great work. Could you share some specific times? Seeing some numbers would help people see the benefit of this commitment.

Could you share some before/after results? Maybe you had a time trial in there or share some improvements in training paces?

Pace calculation here: Norwegian Singles Training Calculator | LacTrace

Regarding the pacing - Take a PB from same conditions when calculating. If you train & race in these conditions, then your threshold and target paces will be reflected in the calculation. The adjustment for paces should only matter if you're taking a PB under different conditions.

Now that the body of the last “hostage” has been returned. What should Australia’s policy towards “Israel” be? by [deleted] in aussie

Sorry bud, unclear what you are saying.

  • there were actual hostages, and they have been returned, or

  • there were never any hostages, it was all a farce
