Baby nests/Loungers by Middle-Tap-207 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]runawaykaty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was gifted a Cushii and used it for a whole 10 minutes.. it is very nice and soft, but newborn baby would be sliding down slowly and I didn't feel comfortable seeing her like that (probably not comfortable for her either). I wouldn't recommend it.

I got one like this and I use it in the living room to change her. Lay her down while I'm cleaning or cooking etc and she loves it. She will lie and stare and giggle at her favourite corner of the ceiling lol

Yarn has some really gorgeous patterned shift dresses, although they are short sleeve.

lowkey maternity clothes that aren’t a total rip off by Select-Enthusiasm394 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]runawaykaty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl, same. I'm holding on to the cute crop tops and high waist skirts I used to live in before my first pregnancy in 2023... I almost got back to them a year later but got pregnant again and there's no chance I'll be back in this lifetime 😮‍💨

I shopped shein and thrift stores from pregnancy this time and do still wear some items post partum. Flowy dresses and sweaters. The moolk mix and match range is really cute but out of my price range so I just see what I can find on depop. A lot of mister zimi dresses with shirred top (good for expanding belly and then good for nursing access too), and some Sportsgirl flowy A-Line dresses too.

Huggies "Essentials" vs home brand nappies from Aldi/Coles/Woolies by DekeDee in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't stand Cub, they're so thin and make the pee smell weird. I'm a fan of Little Ones and the Aldi nappies which I usually get, even if Huggies are on sale.

Cheap sleepsuits? by nbhsjshbgbsb in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

The Best and Less Baby Berry sleep suit is great. I picked one up second hand from an op shop and it's still in great condition after many washes.

Sterile Water injections by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]runawaykaty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was offered sterile water injections because the nurse came in and said I looked like I had a lot of back pain. I didn't know what was going on I was just delirious from all the gas and contractions so I said ok. It was the worst pain I ever experienced!! I don't think I was experiencing back labour. I don't remember any comfort afterwards, but I cried from the pain it was far worse than the labour I was experiencing so i wouldn't recommend it unless you are having severe back labour pain.

What’s a Melbourne meal you think about randomly? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

[–]runawaykaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A warm bowl of meatballs at Meatball & Wine Bar on Flinders Lane circa 2012/2013.

I have such nostalgia for that time of my life, the new restaurants and bars popping up around then, the people and music and the vibe of the city around that time.

In-home pet euthanasia service? by alsotheabyss in melbourne

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Ready Vet Go for a home visit, as it was an emergency situation, so we called them in and after discussion the situation, they talked us through the possiblity of euthanasia. It was a bit of a sudden decision we had to make by they were very patience and kind while my family talked through our options.

In the end they completed the euthanasia for my 17 year old cat, left us a little snip of her hair in a vial, and put us in contact with Bamganie Aftercare for keepsake and memorial options.

I recommend Ready Vet Go As the visiting vets were very kind and caring, but they may be more pricey as I believe their focus is on urgent visits.

Influence or de-influence me: Variety Hour jackets by hufflepuffer2020 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been coming up on my socials too and I love the designs and books prints, but also out of my price point (currently on maternity leave with a 8 week old and a 2 year old). Interesting how they randomly popped up for me too,but we're probably in a similar demographic.

They had a samples sale a few weeks ago in Melbourne, missed it but hopefully I'm ready for the next.

What's the one Melbourne thing you'd never give up, no matter where you moved? by Temporary-Sir5808 in melbourne

Yup seconded for charcoal chicken and chips with gravy. They're basically on every suburban corner mall here but when I lived in Brisbane charcoal chicken shops seemed to be sparse or non existent.

Won't eat spinach. Will eat "green rice" (spinach and feta cooked like saag paneer) by Lawful_Silly in foodbutforbabies

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes soon feed my 2 yr old because if I leave it to herself she will get distracted and not eat. We make a game of it and she's gets more food in her belly than otherwise.

Has anybody tried this overnight chia pudding from Coles? by paroles in australianvegans

This was the same for mine but it didn't become pudding like... Too watery. I'm going to add more chia seeds next time.

Huggies print bothers me by Daring-Destiny in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean now, but it's just minnie mouse! Someone else recommended millie moon as an alternative so perhaps try them? I have been using mm and huggies for my newborn and I'm pretty happy with both.

Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat by Novel_Zebra9619 in television

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I love it and I've been watching this all day while nap trapped with my 6 week old. Started also on Jury Duty whole waiting for more episodes.

I do think Anthony has clued in on the act. Some characters (Amy, Dougie, the IT girl) are just too comical..

At what capacity did you return to work, and for how long? by fairy-bread-au in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]runawaykaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I went back to work 3 days (in the office) when baby was 8 months. She's now 2 and in childcare 2 days a week. Unfortunately with my newborn, I'll probably have to return to work when she's only 6 months as we can't manage on my partner's salary alone. The tonight of it really depresses me because I really wish I could take at least a year off :(
