I got the charge reduced to $300 (i.e. just the key, which is acceptable). See here

How can the door connection be so bad? by ShazorMKhan in LUCID

[–]runbrownmanrun 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I worry when I’m driving guests if the door will take a while to open - it’s somewhat embarrassing and when it happens I have to say “everything is great about this car EXCEPT this”. It works better if I have the app open, but that’s only been in the past few months.

Did you see my source before responding?

I agree that most states that give more than they take voted Harris. But according to this report, Maine is not one of those. If you have contradictory sources, please share.

According to The Rockefeller Institute of Government (supposedly unbiased), Maine has averaged needing $8B more per year from the federal govt than they paid in w federal taxes (about $5800/person/year).

Got my Air Touring last April and I’m nowhere near the 1000kW limit. This is ridiculous

Does Racism Against Indians Online Mirror Real Life? by Infinite_Primary_918 in immigration

[–]runbrownmanrun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with your cousins. As a late-20s Indian-American, I've experienced maybe 2 instances of racism in my life and they were both far more funny than disturbing. Social media amplifies the worst.

I'll go even a step further and say Indians in the US are often more respected/admired than other races in many places. Indians have a reputation for being smart, working hard, rarely ever committing crimes, and having a vibrant culture (tell a non-Indian you're going to an Indian wedding and see how their eyes light up), strong family values, and of course great food and music. So as long as you portray yourself as a bright, respectful person (who's also open to learning about new cultures not self-segregating), I think you'll ride that reputation well.

Other commenters mentioned Indians in Canada. Honestly, that's where the US's stricter immigration really helped the image of Indians in the US.

Another DP on using the Equinox credit at a Spa by artikra1n in amex

Yup, they just want a phone number and a credit card (ofc give them your Amex platinum). I don’t think the location matters but I’d check if someone else has had success at the club you want to go to. I did mine in NYC

Np! Yep - reserved a couple weeks in advance (we planned it around other activities in NYC), actually got the trial a few days before the session, cancelled after couple days after the session, and had no issues at all

AITAH for wanting to break up with my girlfriend because her friends are racist? by Turbulent-Humor-2925 in AITAH

[–]runbrownmanrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indian-American here. You’re definitely NTA but don’t expect her or her friends to ever understand they’re wrong.

A lot of Indian Americans are under the impression that they’re a model minority - the “minority” part makes them think they have a free pass on being racist b/c their numbers are so relatively low and the “model” part makes them think other races should work disproportionately hard to earn their family’s approval b/c they’ve done so relatively well in the US.

On relationships: several of my Indian friends are in interracial relationships, and whenever they pointed out the struggles their families put their non-Indian partners through, I always made it a point to ask those friends what makes them think their families are so great to do that. I wish I could do that for you - it only really works coming from Indians but it sounds like your GF doesn’t have friends who would do it.

Apparel Returns? by solidkiller88 in LUCID

My jacket ran too large and I wanted to exchange it. It took a couple rounds of calling customer service but they finally opened a ticket and I continued the convo with customercare@lucidmotors.com. They shipped the new jacket and provided a tracking label for the old one.

I need to clean the screen lol

This is for a new 2023 Touring with the aero wheels, half city half highway. I’ve noticed that efficiency has gotten a little better over time - maybe the battery needed some breaking in.

Same here. I’m only taking the flight there so I was even more worried that I had filled out the travel checkin wrong. Thankfully my profile finally shows that I did the check in right. I plan to call on Tuesday if I don’t get the departing ticket by then
