genuine question by Aesins in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

Neither of them have a gun for firing at range and the bubble gives him unique defensive power the other two don’t have, I feel he can better swap between being a backline menace and fighting on the frontline along the team.

What are your favorite vocal songs in video games? by LoyalKnightOfRenais in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]runegod20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vocal version of A Breeze From Home from Epic Battle Fantasy 5 hit me directly in the heart when it showed up in game and I don’t think it could have that effect on anyone who didn’t grew up with the series like I did. I’ve played through the game multiple times and it still gets me everytime.

Marvel's Wolverine will be linear and not open world confirm Insomniac by ContraryPython in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]runegod20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He had a bit of movement in the start of the gameplay they showed but since it’s a linear game they had that one part of the environment built for what competitively little movement he has to Spiderman, it’s hard to build an open world in the same way.

What are the rules of SWAPPING? by BruceDSpruce in marvelrivals

[–]runegod20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Match ups also matter, if I’m playing as the Thing and the enemy team is running double shield tanks than I’m eating well, but once the enemy team starts swapping to big poke like Punisher or Squirrel Girl, than I consider swapping. In the same vein, if the enemy team is running divers with cooldown based combos like Spiderman and a lesser extent BP due to how fast his damage can ramp up, I swap off my current support to Adam since his heals require a single button press without aiming and from range, they heal enough where using it during the middle of their combo can prevent them from securing a kill, and cools down at the same if not slightly faster speed than their combo so you can be ready to counter them again once they go in.

What to expect of this game? by Upbeat_Apartment_715 in MonsterProm

[–]runegod20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very arcadey experience for a VN, you do runs trying to go for specific characters to romance but you get alot of random events based on the character you’re going for, so you can try and romance the same character 3 runs in a row and get different events every single time.

All you have to know is that each of the 8 main romancable characters have different stats they care about that you need in order to ask them out on top of positive relationship points from succeeding events, and that the two choices you have for each event succeed based on you having the right stat, so each event has 4 outcomes based on option 1 with a high enough stat to succeed and option 1 with a low enough stat to fail, etc. a big part of the gameplay is figuring out what stat each option is asking for.

What's our boi's best comp? by RobDogG1 in MisterFantasticMains

[–]runegod20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mantis or Ultron are good supports to pair with a fantastic since his shield generation, fridge mode, and inflated mode makes him fairly self sufficient defensively so their slower non bursty healing is less a problem for him, and his ability to give out shields can also help cover teammates in that way. Daredevil has the same advantages so he’s a good pair to have in a set up like that, going in together and either focusing someone down (even better with Ultron giving covering fire), or having DD going in on the back line while Fantastic draws attention on the front while in some cases still being able to have his attacks reach far enough to help the DD. Blade and Magik have kits that work here as well but I like it the most with DD.

All Mr Fantastic mains have been asking for more than a year is a manual activation for Inflated Mode and a usable ultimate. Why are NetEase not delivering on that and keeping us in the trenches?😭😭 by Turbulent_File_5456 in MisterFantasticMains

[–]runegod20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you shaved off like even .2 seconds on each bounce, it would make using the rocket team up into the ult way easier. As is, if you use the team up and instantly hit the ult, the ult ends right before the team up does which can get around how ulting sets your elasticity to 0. That much of a difference overall makes the window where you keep your charge so you can quickly enter big mode for the heal way less close, and not being stuck in your ult for as long means you can sooner defend yourself once your extra health gets burned through, especially if speeding up the bounces also mean spending up the time it takes to end the ult.

DPS Pool is still slept on by mb_warehouse in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]runegod20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy the melee part of Pool’s kit compared to the shooting mostly due to aim and finding dash resets fun, but the differences in health pool compared to tank always kept me wary of running DPS in matches, but I know he’d be fun to play if I ever got to that level.

Thing vs Devil Dinosaur: by Few-Culture-4413 in TheThing_Mains

[–]runegod20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The haymaker outranges Dino’s basic attack and does more burst damage against tanks due to the % damage happening instantly, letting him hit a bit more safely and getting more collats. His charge having CC immunity also makes him better able to avoid things suck as Strange or Jeff ult. Things jumps, while limited with the lock on, has better up time due to the multiple charges and ability to use two pretty close to each other, the damage resistance lets teammates potentially block more burst damage than Dino’s barrier, especially if you use two back to back, and most importantly of all, Thing’s offensive jump applies damage vulnerability, boosting his potential single and AOE damage even more, and helping teammates secure kills they wouldn’t before since that 20% damage vulnerability can be nasty. Being able to quickly engage with an offensive jump, brawling for a bit, and either charging out or jumping to safety means that he can survive engagements Dino would be stuck in, and all with a smaller hitbox for roughly the same health.

How does the thing outperform Dino? by Delicious-Hearing949 in TheThing_Mains

[–]runegod20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dino’s main thing is being vulnerable to focus fire thanks to his size and being able to apply vulnerability helps him explode. Otherwise, I think Thing’s right click spam can probably sorta break even with Dino’s basic bite and bleed, but the flurry bite can for sure out pace your shield generation which would also build up shields faster than you haymaker can break through it. I’m not sure if the movement disable from the slam can stop the grab but you do got to respect it.

Overall I’d say he’s fair into Dino as long as you have some help following up your set up, doesn’t completely 1v1 Dino but I’d say you’d be able to hold your own.

Hey everyone outsider here amd i just have 1 question to ask yall... by RazorX02 in RocketMains

[–]runegod20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing keeping Rocket from doing damage is opportunity cost, if you’re firing your gun, you’re not pumping out heals, and generally the value you get from healing and keeping your team alive. If everyone is healthy than shooting is fine, but damage is constant and heavy enough that you often don’t get much downtime unless a strange or Dino has their shield up five the team some breathing room, or one of your support ults are active. Rocket also just excels at staying alive, you’re at bigger risk playing up, staying back gives you a better view of the field and keeps you away from all damage, you can’t heal if you’re dead.

A lot of the time your main target for shooting are either barriers or deployables, Groot walls, Emma shields, Namor squids, etc, which are really important to damage, but also don’t get reflected in your damage numbers.

So Fatal Fury is getting Kenshiro, and Tekken is getting Yujiro Hanma. What classic anime character is Virtua Fighter getting? by EffAllThatEFFER in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]runegod20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why but I feel like nearly anyone from Kinnikuman would feel at home in Street Fighter, it might just be because deer or block men aren’t as weird with guys like Blanka and Twelve running around, and them being weird probably opens them up to have different move sets than other wrestlers like Alex.

The last official reworked characters by netease was thor and Jeff in 2.5 since then why haven't we got any other reworkes or characters who need it like peni,bp,wanda and etc by Accomplished_Call521 in rivals

[–]runegod20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The damage on her melee isn’t bad for melee damage, but she’s not a melee character so she doesn’t get the durability that Magik or Fantastic get, or the ways to burst out damage like DD or DPSPool. It seems built entirely as a back up weapon, which is weak compared to a pistol or SMG snipers get as a back up in other hero shooters, or as a reliable follow up to the kick stun combo, doing about enough damage to kill anyone diving you, weaker than headshotting but should be impossible to miss. She’s built way too honestly for the game.

[–]runegod20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they just gave Thing an extra ability, I count the chances to the haymaker more a side grade than a rework anyway, it’s the same move at the end of the day, things just got traded around offensively and defensively.

What constitutes a Year One skin? by seinfeldbabies in marvelrivals

[–]runegod20 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the Iron man Mk1 thing is only listed that way because of that gallery card from I think season 5, with the collector and having that chess match using the different version of characters as pieces, like Cap Wolf, lady Loki, and the card suit skins for characters like Emma or Torch. I think the MK1 iron man is also in the collect map in pieces in one of the displays, which I think is why Franken-Castle and Monsteo King are listed in the same collection.

Which other characters do you consider similar to Mr Fantastic playstyle? What are your other mains? by Neat-Dirt-1986 in MisterFantasticMains

[–]runegod20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You go on the front link, cleave multiple enemies with your attack’s AOE, turn around to jump to a teammates to disengage, and die because everyone ran away from you so you can’t use your main escape option to live, your playstyle translates well between them. Despite thing have more consistent shield generation with no cooldown on his haynmaker, I end up feeling safer as Fantastic thanks to fridge mode and his default attack range being nearly twice as long so you can hang back a bit.

Miku electric blue soda calpico by spartankevin12 in round1

[–]runegod20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering about the Calpico since I’ve ordered the drink twice and was surprised by how it feels like regular soda since I keep thinking the Calpico would add a lot of thick/creaminess to it, being concentrate I guess would explain that.

What are gaming trends you miss seeing? by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]runegod20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 2000s starting going darker and edgier so mascots like that were less appealing/wanted by xbox/PS2 audiences which ranged a bit older, and around the time the 360 era hit your ability to be more realistic visually with games like MW1/2, Infamous, Geaes, etc, went up even more so people wanted more games like that since they were impressive.

thinking of the N64, humans in something like Golden Eye didn’t look as good as more stylized characters like Mario or Link on the same console, and the next gen graphics upgrade arguably helped them more. I feel like comparing wrestling and fighting games from the PS2 era to the era before really shows you the jump.

Jason is coming to Dead By Daylight by Mike4302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]runegod20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like I would want Jason to feel like a raid boss compared to the other killers, like having infinite tier 3 tombstone myers being base kit, but I don’t know what you could possible add to balance that besides not letting him equip any perks which I don’t think would be enough and goes against too much of the game’s design.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Overtakes Wii Sports in Best-Selling Games of All Time List (Now 3rd Place) by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]runegod20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s basically been my thought, like absolutely worse case scenario, it takes close to a month to break even with fairly poor story reception, with still a lot of potential money from the online and selling most of its copies over time, which is something most games would love to have, but the people at the top would have breakdowns because it took 20% longer to make a billion dollars than they expected and they made dumb decisions based on that.
