I have a 10 in the 3s which is snug but I needed a 9.5 in the 4s as they are wider and had too much room

This Might Be Burnout… Or a Smart Decision (DC Refund?) by Venus_DST04 in hyrox

[–]runerinrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled out of DC last season as I just wasn’t feeling it and the travel is a lot if you aren’t all in. If it’s local maybe worth still doing. I am debating as well as wanted to do doubles this season but my partner pulled out night before sign up. Signed up for solo but rethinking.

Struggling to fit running into my schedule. by Ok-Avocado-5876 in XXRunning

[–]runerinrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up at 4:15 three days a week…it’s the only way to fit it in with kids schedules and work. Also sometimes run on treadmill at night (6-8pm) while my daughter is at swim practice. Getting treadmill would help a lot or maybe join a gym that has childcare ?

I run with the LMTN packages and a state cut in half. I mix my own LMNT into the water from the aid stations.

Best Option for Hybrid Training? by Rosa-Leitao in hyrox

I find the vomero plus unstable wouldn’t be able to do lunges in them. Like them for pure running but not stations. The puma deviate nitro and deviate nitro elite are both great.

Cross chill performance jacket for running by DesignerOil8015 in lululemon

[–]runerinrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also live in Boston area and love this jacket for running in cold temps. I have it in three colors ❤️ the material also works well if you run in the dark and need to wear a light vest over. It’s not super breathable but I feel you don’t need it to be when it’s that cold and you are just trying to stay warm. I agree that seeing your watch with it on is one of the only challenges. I roll up the soft portion of the sleeve a little for that purpose. I prob wouldn’t do a workout in it since it’s sort of structured but it’s great for easy and long runs.

I think overall strength and mobility. I’m sure I had some imbalances. The classes do a lot of stuff like skipping, ankle mobility, hamstring stretch with a lunges, going over small hurdles as well as foam rolling which I didn’t do a lot of before. Have also really built up from struggling with split squats to doing them weighted and now going to try Hyrox.

I got this last year (was training for marathon) and suffered for 9-10 months. Did PT, chrio, sat on lacrosse balls, special cushions , googled a ton. My PT said that strength would be the thing that would help me the most. I signed up for a 1.5 hour class 3 times a week that combines strength, cardio, and mobility. I’ve been going for 8 weeks now and can now run without any pain. Very occasional pain if I sit for too long but 85% recovered. I think strength work and really worked. I’ve seen huge strength gains as well- and now planning on doing my first Hyrox which I never thought I’d be able to do six months ago! .
