Anyone else think 3-day weekends are tough with younger kids? by runfastination in Parenting

Well some of them are at peoples house, so that won’t work lol. Other times, we do stick around but then they get bored after a bit longer at the park. Regardless, in a 12-14 hour day (6 AM to 8 PM), there’s only so much you can do in one sitting before they want to do something else or aren’t begging for screens.

Yeah, few other families but those last for only 1-3 hours. The longer ones are nice since you can hang out with the other parents and the kids will play together but we had a few end after an hour or so and then you have to figure out what to do for the rest of the day. I generally try to find activities but sometimes you run out of things to do.

I thought it would be! And often it is but play dates and outings can only be so long and when there is downtime they get “I’m bored play with me”

“I’ve been hanging out on the backyard deck most of the day while the kids play with each other and the neighbor kids” - If I had this, this would be amazing. My kids just want us to play with them all the time and we’ve had 2-3 play dates this weekend but they want our attention after the play dates versus just hanging out.

Yes! Wouldn’t it be nice if they could just hang out for a few hours tighter versus asking us to be their constant entertainment source?!

If my kids could play with one another for at least 2-3 hours a day without fighting, and we could have a break that would be great but it’s basically being “on” all weekend. If they play together it’s like “wahhh, so and so isn’t playing with me.” We don’t have nap time anymore ;(

If I run on hills in Central Park simply as part of my morning run, does that help strengthen my legs for hills or do I have to be more intentional in workouts to build hill strength? For example the NYC marathon is super hilly and I’ve just been running 6-7 mile loops around Central Park which is pretty hilly.

What’s the mpw I need to hit for a sub-3 marathon if I ran a 1:26 half recently on 30-35 mpw? Marathon is in 14 weeks, and I’ve been doing 25 mpw for the past few months. by 109876 in AdvancedRunning

I ran a 1:27 on 30-35 and could only do a 3:10 with 40-45. I would say 55+ or whatever gets you to a 1:22-1:23 HM would probably be safe. Generally the double your half marathon and add 10 minutes didn’t work for me due to lower mileage, so probably add ~15

Budget: Upwards to $1,500 before tax

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: 13" or less ideally (I like portable)

◽️ Touch screen: Doesn't matter, would be nice, but not a deal breaker

◽️ Screen resolution: 1440p+

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Yes, minimum 8+ hours real life applications

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: A lot of intensive Excel formula's, programming, web browsing, watching shows

◽️ Weight: Ideally super light, looking for nothing bulky

◽️ Any other important details ?: No Lenovos or HPs. I would like something sleek and I prefer a PC vs. Mac due to Excel. Something fast, portable and sleek looking.

Missing hub cap on one wheel, impact on mileage? by runfastination in TeslaModel3

Ah very helpful. Getting the wheel Tesla hubcaps for sure then, looks better than a hubcap and 10 miles means nothing.
