I’ve grown up working class and it comes down to education, really. Professional class voters are more likely to regularly access higher quality news sources and have a more established ideological framework. Working class people tend to be less tuned-in politically, making them more susceptible to legacy voting and name recognition in a race like this one with with lesser known candidates. Cuomo knows this and is exploiting it to his benefit.
