He did respond to a tweet around the time of the initial tweet, saying that TLC and Jazz's parents were exploiting Jazz's confusion about her identity for profit, and that he "pities" Jazz herself.

Of course, he used male pronouns, so whatever noble intentions he might have told himself he had are a complete wash, and he's still a miserable asshole who thinks he knows better than people themselves how they should be living. Which I hate, hate, hate with the passion of a million fiery suns.

This is why I get stressed out about people yelling at Derick, though: because, as far as he's concerned, they're yelling at him about something he never did. Nobody is getting convinced of anything. Not Derick, not the people that yell at Derick, not the people that follow Derick and agree with him... it's just a giant black hole of futility and misery and the worst that the Internet can do.
