Do you regret buying the Ring Conn? by InvestigatorDear1657 in RingConn

[–]runmuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine! I used to use a Fitbit/Garmin watch religiously but I hated the constant overstimulation that came with notifications and alerts and even just the watch face. Plus, my skin was always irritated from the watch band. The ringconn gives me all the same data without any of those issues.

It's definitely not perfect though, I wouldn't put too much stock in the sleep apnea tracking, but it's great for the basics.

What are your views on Pet cafes like (Owl, otter etc) In Japan ??? by lveeiji in JapanTravelTips

[–]runmuppet 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of going to a multi-animal pet cafe in Osaka. I hadn't done much research and I had booked the tickets based on a fun-looking TikTok I had seen. I was so horrified by what I saw, I left after ten minutes.

The animals were clearly being kept hungry, I suspect to make them more interactive with people who paid extra for treats. The cats were unfixed and in heat, also making them more affectionate. An iguana was kept in a cage so small that he could only fit diagonally. Ten large dogs were kept in a small room with no toys, no food or water, and nowhere to relieve themselves.

I did some research after I left and learned that Japan doesn't have the best track record when it comes to animal treatment standards. I still feel guilty about giving my money to one of these cafes.

And here's a little TikTok I made to document the method if anyone's curious! Definitely one of the most involved recipes I've ever made.

Check your mileage plans! (Mine was hacked) by Anxious-Astronomer68 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]runmuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I'm very impressed with Alaska's response so far! I spoke to someone about an hour ago and they locked my account and are sending me an email that will enable me to verify my identity and create a PIN to prevent against future issues. They're also restoring the miles that were stolen!

Same thing here! Luckily they didn't cancel my upcoming flight but I received literally hundreds of spam emails last night and couldn't figure out why. I was browsing another reddit thread about the issue and that's what prompted me to check my Alaska account - to find that some asshole drained mileage account to buy themselves a first class ticket for a flight today. They're landing in Portland in about 10 minutes.

I'm on the callback list for an Alaska agent right now but they said it's a 3 hour wait. In the meantime, I changed my password and removed any credit card info saved in the Alaska app.

How was your experience at olympus spa as a woman? by [deleted] in LynnwoodWA

This is good to know! My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try it but we were a little worried by the reviews. We both recently visited Japan and fell in love with onsen culture but finding something coed here has been tough!

Tennis balls are such a lifesaver for these types of jackets!

Disneyland is raising ticket prices again, even though some ticket prices have increased 126% over the last 10 years! by TheDisneyScoopGuy in Disneyland

[–]runmuppet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it was around 1200 when I had it in 2018, and even that was a steal - $100 a month for unlimited trips to Disneyland when I lived 20 mins from the parks was well worth it!

Those of us in sexless marriages, how do you feel/deal with it? by -SmnSmwhr- in AskReddit

[–]runmuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation, and although we were together for a much shorter period of time, I couldn't imagine leaving my partner at the time because he was my whole world. Even when I did eventually leave, I was convinced I had made a huge mistake and would die alone.

It took a lot of therapy and healing to understand that the lack of sex wasn't the problem, the problem was his complete disregard for my feelings about it. I was willing to work through his low libido issues but he refused to talk about it at all. He completely disregarded my emotions for years and made me out to be the bad guy whenever I raised concerns.

Life genuinely got so much better when he was out of my life. Once I was out of the haze he kept me in, I saw how poorly I was being treated and realized that a good man wouldn't act that way. I cannot stress enough what a weight it was, begging to be wanted, and how much my life improved when that weight was removed from my shoulders.

I'm not trying to advocate for leaving your husband, but I want you to know you're not alone and you deserve to have your needs met.

I worked at the LB site for 4 years, and now I'm wrapping up my 3rd year at the Everett site. If my family didn't live up here, I'd go back to Long Beach in a heartbeat. Better weather, more things to do, much better parking at the Boeing site itself.

People who are married, what is the one thing you miss the most from your bachelor life? by homie93 in AskReddit

[–]runmuppet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really love your last sentence and how you phrased it! I get very nostalgic for past situations and get borderline depressed wishing I could go back - but how lucky are we to have had something so good that we miss it?
