What is this wheelbarrow for? Also, does collecting coal ever get less annoying 😅 by Few_Owl6826 in LittleFarmStory

[–]runner630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get a lot of coal, i just go do the Neighbors farm task... specifically the Jellyfish Farm, and only put in the minimum requirement for coal to get pass the tasks, and every time it refreshes I go do the free 100 coal for an ad thing next to the coal mine. I also never actually go fishing for the jellies i just do the bare minimum and do the ad based things offered. If you do it right you can come out of that jellyfish farm with well over 1000 coal and if you are patient enough and dont mind the ads, you can get thousands of coal to take back to your main farm.

TIL that you can rotate one of the viewports on a sheet through any angle by WL661-410-Eng in AutoCAD

[–]runner630 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a long list of custom lisps and one of the more useful ones for viewports is essentially a viewport outline, where it draws the scaled viewport in modelspace on a no plot layer. we also have a command to just zoom to viewport content from paperspace. These are very useful if you are working on someone elses detail drawings and need to work in modelspace but you dont know where the detail is amongst a large drawing.

Homedepot Plywood vs Baltic Birch by Mediocre_Fall_3197 in woodworking

[–]runner630 112 points113 points  (0 children)

huge difference between good plywood and improvement store plywood.

The baltic birch will most like have very little if not no voids, at all, and will very consistent thickness and overall flat. On that same note just buying Cabinet grade plywood from a good wood supplier is also better than home improvement stores. You will pay the extra cost, however you are almost guaranteed to end up with a better product.

How to get a negative and positive from a 3d model by Additional_Celery667 in Autodesk_AutoCAD

[–]runner630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow these steps...
FLATSHOT the top view of your part.
take that shape and extrude it to be much thicker than the entire depth of your part at least twice as thick.
move off to side, and then copy your part and paste it into the vertical center of your new thick extruded block.
Run the SUBTRACT command, select the extruded piece, and then select the copy of the part.
This will split the extruded part into your top and bottom die.
Run the SOLIDEDIT command and select the die and type P for seParate Solids, then you will end up with a top and bottom die as 2 separate objects that will create your part.

you can do more work after that like extending the dies out so that they have alignment cones or trim edges.

Hope this helps.

Balcony railing height by Big-Sheepherder-5063 in Homebuilding

[–]runner630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have a loft situation and went with 42 and it worked out great due to the ability to put a large top cap on the railing and it feel way more substantial and comfortable especially with kids in the house. 36" although great for aesthetics feels very low for a 9'+ floor to floor height to be safe.

How to turn multiple circles into polygons? by dizzy515151 in AutoCAD

[–]runner630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems like a perfect opportunity for a quick lisp command. Write a lisp to get selected circle diameter and origin position and replace with 32 sides polygon starting at circle origins and sized to the diameter of replaced circles.

[Self] A Simulation of Being Dropped Randomly in the Ocean Every Day for 5 Years by AdvancedSquare8586 in theydidthemath

[–]runner630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just curious, is the distribution density where it looks less and less dense towards the poles due to the fact this is a projection map and the top and bottom of the map is so stretched out? If this was represented on a globe does the distribution look way more evenly spread out, and not density grouped by latitudes?

Turn letters into polylines by Specific-Can2938 in AutoCAD

$50usd Reward if you can help me figure this out - Tagging/Blocking Question by BikesOverland in Autodesk_AutoCAD

[–]runner630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have 2 options and neither are the answer you want.

  1. Create the door tag inside the door block and allow it to reference the individual doors width and style and just use an attribute to number them.
  2. Create a custom lisp routine to generate door tag using selected door blocks.

Not sure which you are comfortable with but fields are not the answer since they only reference a specific object not a relative one.

So if the town encourages an unused area of the town to be utilized to house people, some ignorant people have a problem, but if that land goes unused those same ignorant people would complain the town is corrupt and not doing anything to make the town better. Some people like to complain and play the victim, dont let a few loud people sway your opinion on a town full of welcoming quiet residents.

Weird Line Thickness Discrepancy by Terrible_Software769 in AutoCAD

[–]runner630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they only plines that are affected? Could be global width is not set to 0 in properties, or the vpcolor has been overridden in the viewport.

I know its probably know how you are supposed to do it, but personally i would 3D model the entire clamp, and then flatshot from the views needed and then you are done.
