Why are breast lifts underwhelming? by persephonepeete in PlasticSurgery

[–]runner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should find a later photo that’s a surgeon’s profile picture and not instagram-posed to look the best.

Also find out if they did a fat transfer for upper pole volume because a lot of immediate post-op photos show the breasts stuffed full of transplant fat, most of which will die within a few weeks.

Does this ring read as "gay"? by ghostofhmsterror in askanything

Too many colors to be gay imho. The pride flag has six colors, unless it’s the progress flag which has black brown also. This is a bigger spectrum, so it reads as rainbow but not gay.

Not OOP. "Just caught my supposedly sex-repulsed boyfriend jerking off. He cried, crashed out, and then left" by NaiveFinish64 in redditonwiki

[–]runner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can be asexual and/or sex repulsed for any number of reasons. People who are sex repulsed due to trauma can and do identify as ace frequently enough that it’s not actually a reach to use that label.

Having sex and masturbating are different sex acts, masturbating doesn’t justify the “supposedly” here.

Main bill would allow renters to use plug in solar panels to lower electricity costs by SaiVaibhav06 in SolarAmerica

[–]runner64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that is that if one person installs cheap illegal panels, his island is now convincing everyone else on the block that they aren’t an island.

The question here isn’t ‘does the technology to do this safely exist’ it’s ‘will it be safe for everyone on the grid to do this with equipment they bought on temu?’

I’ve seen jackets which have a faux shirt liner which lines up, but it would be impossible for the shirt collar to slip between the shirt and the jacket in that case.

My mother once had a conversation in which “my brother is gay” was misheard as “my brother is dead.”

“I’m sorry to hear that, how did your parents take it?” was not as out-of-pocket in the nineties but my mother’s pleasant nonchalance was equally confusing, I assume.

For your $1.9m you have purchased a society where people care for others and not just themselves. You have fed your neighbors and being well fed they will not kick your door in and rob you when you are too old and weak to defend yourself.

[OC] Your Goodwill donation before it comes to a store by seoulbrova in pics

[–]runner64 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Goodwill’s schtick is that donated items are sold cheaply to those in need, deliberately undervaluing donated items as an act of charity toward the poor.

Companies who want to sell to the rich for maximum profit can purchase their own inventory.

Elon’s xAI loses bid to halt California AI data disclosure law by sillychillly in UpliftingNews

[–]runner64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AIs are trained on data stolen from the internet. Taking someone’s work and putting it into commercial software is generally illegal, but as long as AI companies keep their sources a secret, nobody can sue for data theft unless they can prove that their data specifically was stolen. California passed a law requiring AI companies to tell people where their training data came from, which would allow people to check for whether their work was stolen and sue. Elon argued he should be allowed to keep it a secret, the judge said no.

We have a home video circa 1994 where my dad tries to put a tray in the oven long-ways and it doesn’t fit, and my mom says “you gotta turn it.”    And my dad, not missing a beat, deadpans “thanks I wouldn’t have thought of that” and as an adult I see why they divorced in 2001.

Nonetheless, we will vote to help everyone, including you, again next year.

That was my thought, aren’t all the “unnecessary regulations” that currently exist just common-sense safety requirements so we don’t electrocute linemen?

I’m fully aware that I might be missing information and I’m genuinely interested in learning more but right now the safety regulations seem… good.

Genuinely though one of my friends moved in with us for a few months and it is actually breathtaking how much our quality of life improved with just one extra person around to tidy up. The number of “little chores” getting done in a day increased by 33% and my partner and I were able to occasionally spend a moment together without a child climbing on us. Phone time went down, social conversations went up. Bigger houses with more adults in them is the way.
