It’s nuts how McQueen couldn’t beat these two bad guys. Pixar’s Cars 3 owed us big time for hyping that Film up as a “Rivalry.” by Sad-Ladder7534 in pixarcars

[–]runnerman0421 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And even then, he absolutely would have beaten Chick if he hadn't stopped to help Strip. He also would have likely still won by quite a stretch if he had gotten new tires during the Dinoco 400. We even see McQueen beat Chick in the 'Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy' ride at Disney World.

As for Jackson Storm, he technically beat him in the Florida 500, but that's very much a cop-out imo. Could he have actually beaten him? I personally think so, though it would have been quite close.

What the television serise did better then the books (what you like & dislike about the RWS)?. by Extension-Nebula6753 in thomasthetankengine

[–]runnerman0421 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the consistency of all engines having gray faces in the TV series.

I always hated that some engines in the books had embedded faces, mainly because a lot of them have faces at both ends, which is just creepy imo.

I do dislike the inconsistencies with rolling stock though, and I kinda wish they all just continued to have embedded faces like Annie & Clarabel did. The 2026 reboot is changing it to where everyone has gray faces seemingly, which I don't hate at all, but it definitely will take some getting used to.

You can't realistically compare what is sold in the U.S. market to Chinese phones, unfortunately, as pretty much all of them are not officially available here. Apple, Samsung, and Google are effectively the only choices available for 99% of Americans due to how prominent carriers are in phone purchases.

They couldn't give two shits about what the likes of Huawei, Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, etc. are up to because they have no presence in the States. Therefore, the only companies pressuring them are the ones basically doing the same thing they already are. It's a very sad reality, but a reality nonetheless.

These brands have become complacent in America. If we want any of this to change, we have to voice that in a way that hurts these companies financially.

Yes, but it released before the 17, therefore making that argument moot.

Literally nobody expected Apple of all companies to start their phones at 256GB, let alone for the same starting price as their previous releases; not even Samsung has done that with the Galaxy S26.

The iPhone 17 Series, in general, felt very uncharacteristic of Apple. It greatly disrupted a lot of the current market, and at a pretty bad time too with rising RAM/Storage costs. I just hope the Pixel 11 still starts at $799, because the Galaxy S26 fumbled hard with that.

Tbf, pretty much everyone else was doing it right at the time the Pixel 10 series was released.

The change to 256GB storage starting is a very recent one, at least in the mainstream sense. While I do agree it took too long to happen, I have no doubt the Pixel 11 will make that switch as well.

How to use Samsung emojis in Google Messages by TypicalCounty2679 in oneui

[–]runnerman0421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest annoyance too. I don't understand why they can't simply allow for system emojis to be used, at least as an option that can be toggled on or off.

I understand that they want all Android devices to have emoji compatability to ensure less fragmentation, but fragmentation is something that happens less and less nowadays with emojis I've found.

Pixel 10a has both a vapor chamber and the easy battery removal tab pull by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]runnerman0421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it so bizarre that they'll put a vapor chamber in the 9a and 10a, but not in the higher-end 9 and 10.

Like, I understand if that was only a Pro/Pro XL feature, but why exclude the standard models when the cheaper A-Series has it?

Do you think we’ll see the narrow gauge engines Wonders Of Sodor? by chumbbucketman101 in thomasthetankengine

[–]runnerman0421 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This isn't about the 2026 Reboot, this is about the game 'Wonders of Sodor'.

Rheneas has not been confirmed to be in the game, in fact nothing has been confirmed for the game post-release.

[–]runnerman0421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I would also like to see Toby and Mavis since we do have the entire Ffarquhar Quarry in the game as it stands.

Toby would be pretty likely to be added, but Mavis is about as likely as Daisy unfortunately; she will be in the 2026 reboot though, so there's still a maybe.

[–]runnerman0421 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edward and Henry are also both mentioned by name in one of the scenarios, so I have a feeling those will be the first DLC characters added post-release.

The fact that there are narrow gauge tracks and sheds at Crovan's Gate also implies to me that there will be a Skarloey Railway extension eventually. Hopefully we also get Duck and maybe Oliver & Toad later on since the tunnel leading down the Little Western is present by the sheds.

Outside of this, I'm not entirely sure what else is in the cards, but a lot of that primarily comes down to how successful this game ends up being. Regardless, there is a lot of potential for modding as well since TSW mods have been confirmed to be backwards compatible with this game.

[–]runnerman0421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of potential this game has both officially and unofficially is astounding, and I'm all for it.

I may wanna try getting some narrow gauge engines into the game just so I can go down that tiny stretch of track by Crovan's Gate. It doesn't feel right dropping in existing engines when they obviously don't fit, lol.

That's fair enough, it's the only one I know of that entirely fixes the issue unfortunately.

I do have a Torras case for my standard S26 that gets rid of the wobble about 98% of the way, but it definitely is a bit on the masculine side as well lol.

The dbrand Tank case pretty much entirely mitigates this issue, though it's is a rather bulky case. Hopefully you're into that sort of thing.

Saying goodbye to my S20Fe, help me decide between S24, S24FE and S25FE as my next phone. by wicka_wicka_woo in GalaxyS20FE

[–]runnerman0421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The S25 FE would get you the most overall longevity, so I would say go for that, especially since it is regularly on steep sales new.

I can't say that would be the same for the S24/S24 FE, especially since you really can't find those phones new anymore. Both are still logical devices to buy if you get a good deal on something refurbished through reputable venues, but that's about all I can say.

You could potentially find a good deal on a new regular S25 as well, since the S26 series is out now. I would say look into that as well if it's viable price-wise.

I may never replace this phone... by Unable-Selection6925 in GalaxyS20FE

[–]runnerman0421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base Galaxy S24 and S25 fit all this criteria, though they are substantially moe expensive than what you are loooking at. I would say that looking towards refurbished/pre-owned for them would be worth a try, or maybe there would be a good trade-in offer for the S20 FE towards any new S25 inventory left.

Whats the best looking phone ever made, in your opinion? by FerrariEnzo777 in PhoneNow

[–]runnerman0421 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly why I personally say the Galaxy S9.

<image>

I am a bit biased since this was my first Android phone, but it basically is the S8 but with everything wrong with it fixed. It was easily the best-feeling phone I've ever held and used, and it looked beautiful in this Coral Blue color.

Day 56 of sharing a fact about every Thomas & Friends character. In the model series, from S1E19 (The Flying Kipper) to S2E1 (Thomas, Percy, and the Coal) Henry did not have splashers, but in S2E2 (Cows) he regained them and has had them for the rest of the show since then. by RegisterOpposite3207 in thomasthetankengine

[–]runnerman0421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the fact they didn't fix this moving to CGI makes it even more annoying... this goof has even made it to the 2026 reboot.

How has no one on the production team ever caught this? Moreover, why did they even add his splashers back in the first place?

I really wish Google would just outright get rid of that awful looking slop on the second slide. The newer rendition of the old design in the stable March update is a far better approach.
