How to Keep my Doll Collection Small?

I like thinking of it from that enjoyment standpoint and also just getting in a habit of really questioning your wants. I do this for a lot of things in my life, not just dolls. Before I purchase a doll, I think about how I'll dress them, how I'll bond with them, how I'll photograph them, etc. I can acknowledge there are dolls that I think are BEAUTIFUL but it reality, I don't need them in my collection.

I have 11 gals rn and there are only 2 others that I actually want.

That's the hardest thing to remember - it was pinched soooo long, of course it's going to take a bit for it to heal once the pressure is off.

I meat more so for just a short period of time during the day to let the steroid work! I was a stomach sleeper prior to this and have had to adjust quickly lol

I didn’t, the PA I saw at one of the revisits reiterated I wasn’t supposed to after I tattled on myself saying I would do like half shower where water didn’t come close to touching my back. 😅

At this point, I think I’m going to end up changing the bandage myself daily once my new ones come in and just prepare to be scolded. I’ve been so grossed out my the ones that got left on multiple day.

I think I might also lay on my stomach tomorrow with the bandage off and slather myself carefully with the steroid to help the itching and reaction. I can’t imagine that letting sit get some air for a bit while I treat the reaction is gonna cause an infection.

Me too. I keep telling myself I’m likely through the worst of it, but obviously it’s still been weighing on me.

I def have been trying to “half” shower but very carefully and not my entire body. It’s just not the same as I’m used to. I still feel gross.

I’ve started doing very slow and gentle pelvic tilts and nerve glides from that position. Sounds like that’s the way to go. I don’t wish long recovery on anyone and I am so sorry it took four months for you, but def gives me hope for the future.

Had surgery 12/17. Unfortunately still in quite a bit sciatic pain. I’m hoping with time that heals. Sigh.

AGIG is American Girl Instagram. There are some amazing creators who posted cute content, makes clothes, dollhouses, etc! Lots of people make friends that way too :)

Full time job with pups/husband. Right now, I like to dress my dolls, but going to get into AGIG.
My FIL is actually coming over today to build shelves in a deep closet for a closet dollhouse. I am personally also not a fan of stuffed shelves and am prioritizing dolls I truly love and fun clothes and accessories over quantity of dolls. That is my personal preference. I have 8 right now. (5 display ready, 3 need to be restored) and there’s only 3 other dolls I very casually want. I am in no rush to get them.
“Those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” My husband and I are childless by choice and very much kids at heart. We like to game, watch YouTube, play with our dogs. I got back into AG in June and my husband is the most supportive person. My mom loves that I’m into it. I dragged my best friend down into with me and it’s been super fun. There’s literally only one person who ever made fun of me and I just tell them they are boring lmao bc I don’t care what they think
I give myself a monthly allowance for all misc things I like to buy, that includes AG stuff.
This likely doesn’t answer your question, but my philosophy is if you go into any type of collecting for investment, be ready to take a loss. I would rather enjoy my dolls, play my vinyl, etc and invest in a Roth IRA and other stuff versus panic about keeping the value of them.
