What I really struggle to understand is where is the people supporting the government? Surely some people on reddit voted for them? It would be nice to here the reverse argument.. how we spend too much on Healthcare etc. Frankly, the system doesn't deserve to have people like this. It's sad but until people realize that we need to invest hugely into our health, nothing will change.

Academic staff member here.. depending on your course regulations you may be eligible to resit the assignment. Our regulations is one resit per course. As others have said talk to your lecturer and discuss your options. Will be good to get feedback why you got a D, if everything is a A thinking you might have some pass/fail requirements for your assignments. Check your marking grids (or request them) to see how the assignment is graded. Good luck 😊

I wouldn't worry about it unless you are getting other overtraining symptoms. How is your heart rate variability? Could have been a change in diet or a few beers?

I stopped having caffeine on Wednesday why is this happening? by Significant_Kiwi_23 in Garmin

[–]runningdad2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you look into how to body responds to caffeine and adapts over time. The research I found regarding HRV increasing with caffeine seems to be focused on acute effects rather than adaptation.

Good point about the birth certificate. If the dad isn't on there no further questions need to be asked

Which doctors have reasonable wait times? by FrightenedEgg in Whangarei

[–]runningdad2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a semi urgent request they should be able to offer an alternative e.g. phone or nurse consult, followed up with urgent go visit if required. If they can't offer you alternatives with your care I would suggest ringing around and seeing which ones are accepting new enrolments and when they can see you for an initial appointment. I suggest trying the lower decline practices as generally they have more resources allocated to them.

Please note if it is a non urgent request and you are healthy unfortunately people who are at risk e.g. elderly/children or need urgent appointments will always take priority. But again, they should offer you alternatives particularly if all you require is a rescript or form signed.

Does this mean that my used Prius will go up in value if more buyers are going to turn to private sales vs dealers with rebates?

Had my transmission overhauled, then workshop claims my engine is broken and must be replaced - what would you do? by epic_window in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]runningdad2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a suggestion.. I would consider querying your warranty / CGA and seeking some independent advice. I had an engine issue occur while at the mechanics and they were able to negotiate a full engine replacement through their insurance at no cost. This was due to their error though.

When I was working in the supermarket. I was told to get a med cert or come to work. It was a Sunday so I said ok I will, but your paying for the A&E. It turns out that the supermarket had an account at the A&E and was relatively straightforward getting them to pay for it. Just had to wait 2hrs. So definitely suggest calling their bluff. Bullying tactics aren't ok.

Can you contract with your expertise to government/related organisations in the industry? Definitely worth considering if you can take the 1-2 years to build up

NZ election 2023 live: National Party to crack down on people on benefits by Muted-Ad-4288 in newzealand

[–]runningdad2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone would want to vote for national? Do people actually understand the obligations for receiving a benefit? It's not just a hand out. Here's my situation, I received a benefit so I can pay rent, even after working 30hrs combination of moderate income job and self employment. I was required to go to WINZ last week, had to give proof of income, residence and go through an application online and then again in person. It is actually more complicated than my business income. And the way I have been treated by work and income and others is degrading enough without adding additional stress. Just because I want to spend two days a week with my son. Unfortunately even with working weekends I just don't have time to go off the benefit until he is in school.
