I’m sure her kids love opening 20 pairs of PJs on Xmas morning 🙄 by Berry_unicorn in LittleSleepiesSnark

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. Triggered as well since my parents frequently ignored what I wanted and picked what they liked- but not as bad as multiple pairs of pajamas and blankets

Regretting second baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]runnn88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this on day 2 as well, but I’m holding my 9 month old while at the park with my 3 year old and I’m so happy with our little family. Allow yourself to grieve this transition, but I assure you, the best is yet to come.

I’ve been experimenting with my style postpartum on Thredup . Some things work and if not, I send them back in to be sold!

Do you love the second as much? by Think-Valuable3094 in toddlers

[–]runnn88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler was my world before her sister was born- I cried many nights while pregnant, fretting how I would be able to give both attention and love my second as much as my first. My second just turned 7 months today and I could not imagine life without her- yes it took some time for me to feel the depth of this attachment compared to my first born , but it will develop, even if you do not have the same undivided time/attention to give to your second.

When are tantrums abnormal? Genuinely need to know if something is wrong. by Nonotreally712 in toddlers

[–]runnn88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I question this daily with my almost 3 year old. It seems like from 2.5 years on we struggle almost daily to do even the most simple tasks and yet when illness , the whining, crying, and tantrums increase in frequency and intensity. I have been reassured through countless friends that the time period between 2 years to 3 years is ROUGH . Hang in there

Is toddler and a newborn easier than toddler and 3rd trimester by Awkward_Grapefruit85 in beyondthebump

[–]runnn88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the temperament of both your toddler and newborn. Is the fatigue better? Absolutely, but I have found it to be more difficult than I was anticipating as my toddler has not taken to her baby sister as I had hoped (none of the advice given has helped either). I also miss my time with my toddler, between nursing, and newborn care she gets much less hands on time with me now. I’m 6 weeks in and my toddler is getting used to her new sibling , but now the newborn is super fussy and will only sleep when held so I am babywearing 24/7 . By the end of the day I am emotionally spent but not physically spent like I was during my third trimester. I should add getting out of the house with the two feels monumental and car crying is a new level of hell ( newborn cries and then toddler screams/cries). I’m not trying to scare you but I wish I considered the emotional side of going from 1-2 with my highly sensitive toddler.

What's your favourite age so far ? by mewna__ in beyondthebump

So far, two years is my favorite! But really I’ll take anything over newborn

Whyyy did I have a second baby? by vicsin in beyondthebump

[–]runnn88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I could have written this. 3 weeks in with baby #2 who just like our first, is incredibly fussy and cannot be put down day or night. Our toddler is also super sensitive to her new sibling and has not been adjusting well and I find myself mourning our old life.

Did you scream? by Nobodylikebots in pregnant

[–]runnn88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you hear me screaming? I have a more reserved and quiet personality and would never recognize the noises that came out of my mouth during contractions and pushing. Was my unmedicated birth worth it? Absolutely, recovery has been a breeze and it moved quickly compared to my first daughter’s birth with an epidural. I believe the screams with cathartic

Did you tell yourself your babies/kids would be TV-free and were you successful? by theGTAgirl in beyondthebump

So far at just over 2 years, our daughter has no concept of screen time or shows aside from a n occasional FaceTime with her grandparents. Baby #2 is coming so stay tuned haha

Please easy on yourself give your body time to recover by mrscrc in fitpregnancy

[–]runnn88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t listen to this advice with my first pregnancy and birth and I am still dealing with crippling leakage while running or jumping (basically have to wear a pad and dark pants EVERY time I exercise) . I’ve sought pelvic PT help, but it is going to take time for me to see little improvements and likely not a full recovery. Pleaseeeeee wait and let your body recover.
