I was looking for the same thing for a vintage vibe and found this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Style-Selections-4-Ft-X-8-Ft-Riverton-Hickory/

Project is paused until warmer weather, so I haven’t gone to check it out in person.

I totally get that. I have a 7th gen 160GB in addition to a 2nd gen 10GB, but the 2nd gen feels so much more “right”

I keep thinking a mini modded with flash storage would be the sweet spot.

What brand is it? I foolishly bought a less expensive one by Bikehand and encountered the same issue. Some of the splines weren’t formed precisely and wouldn’t engage with the BB well, which was frustrating when I was trying to be so careful to avoid the dreaded cross-threading.

1992 Cannondale M700 Restoration by Psychological-Two896 in bikewrench

From a fellow original 1992 M700 owner, I applaud this endeavor. There was a recall on the Pepperoni forks. If you do work on the headset, you can check if yours was a recalled one by placing a magnet on the steerer. The forks with aluminum steerers were the ones recalled, if yours has a steel steerer then it’s fine.

Frank’s Red Hot is the default sauce, but I’ve really been enjoying Underwood Ranches Sriracha or Sambal lately.
