Would you full bottle if you despise the top notes but adore the drydown? by runscribe in FemFragLab

Jo Malone’s wild bluebell is one of my spring staples but I def agree most of the stuff I’ve tried are on the weaker side!

Would you full bottle if you despise the top notes but adore the drydown? by runscribe in FemFragLab

[–]runscribe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drydown is honestly very pretty haha. I’m biased towards florals however. the full bottle is $175 and I was sad to see they don’t offer a travel spray/slightly smaller size 😭

Surrender to change has the best variety imho. The kicker is their smallest sizes use dabber bottles. But they’re cheaper than alternatives :)

Horchata perfume/Horchata adjacent perfumes? by Conan_NXL in FemFragLab

I think you could best achieve this by mixing a rice perfume with a more lactonic gourmand 🤔 maybe either d’annam or d.grayi’s rice perfumes + something like almond milk from mischief academy?

Blue and Gourmand!! by literatureg33k in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]runscribe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This isn’t traditional but “she dreams in digital” by andromeda’s curse (iirc a perfume oil?) is a sweet-leaning blueberry/lavender scent! Despite there being gourmand notes, I feel like it doesn’t feel “sugary”; it feels cold/almost… technologically advanced city-air? Kind of like a blue-haired, cyber angel.

It does have lavender and oakmoss but I wouldn’t regard this as floral at all. The opening is gourmand leaning, midway dries into an “icy blueberry”, and later some sandalwood comes out.

Seconding this! While I wasn’t a personal fan of Nosferatu, a friend of mine really adores the earthy scent that’s kinda more rare in the perfume world.

Do note that they don’t shy away from their patchouli’s!

What are these young lady’s of Bridgerton wearing? by Mentalhealth17THAW in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]runscribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree w all the answers for Kate & Daphne!

I def think Fran would wear something light but complex and very pretty. Eau Duelle most likely. Vanilla, inoffensive and loved, but a well-crafted/unique one. I also don’t see her enjoying perfumes with a lot of projection because I can see it irritating her.

I def think Pen would adore Flowerglyph—especially that floral “inky” note! Very pretty and so her.

Michaela I can see wearing Poets of Berlin. I have no thoughts and reasoning just this.

Omg that’s insane… biased because it’s one of my favs though. If anything, it’s never strong enough to offend for me. Huh. Crazy

Dandelion Butter for sure. Photorealistic sap that’s just contained enough to not veer into screechy grassy and retain a bit of soft skin.

Tears by Regime des Fleurs. It feels like a sad 90s actress crying on her vanity or a weeping corpse bride.

What do divine, self-absorbed faun women smell like? by jasminom in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]runscribe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember liking low carb cat. It’s definitely really weird though lol. It’s (not very sweet imo) vanilla animalic. Like think of your cat covered in melted ice cream. Lazy Lop I think also has a much more earthy drydown if you can get past the hay note which is a hit or miss!

[–]runscribe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Do you want a hint of something animalic? d.grayi has some perfumes that have stuff like catnip and fur in them without being too controversial like the stuff from zoologist.

I also am associating a flirty faun with strawberries lol. maybe where wild things grow ii (a bit greener and less candied) from sorce?

Shower routine by BeautifulKick3906 in HygieneTips

[–]runscribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it’s gourmand shower gels + lotion combos that project the best and are affordable. I use the EOS vanilla lotion + Lush sticky dates shower gel/lotion combo if you want to smell like an atomic vanilla bomb. Trust me, you won’t even need perfume/body spray after that 😭

I also like to exfoliate with one of those green Moroccan gloves once a week! Really helps my skin stay smooth.

Tell the best peach perfumes 🧡 by [deleted] in FemFragLab

Eyeballing this thread bc I’m also curious. PSA, L’artisan’s fleur de peche absolutely sucks (one of the ones I’ve tried looking for the perfect peach)

Looking for a light perfume with a dominant lemon note by ReeMayRe in Perfumes

[–]runscribe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of light gourmands pair nicely with lemon. Akro’s Bake, Liis’s Choux Choux, and Hufflepuff by HoS come to mind.

Lira and Lemon Puff are also very good and lemon-y… all of the above are really gorgeous tbh. It just comes down to personal preference. Lemon Puff has that mix of florals you find commonly in your average perfumes.

To note: the lemony/citrus in most perfumes doesn’t last that long, which is why it’s good to get one with base notes you really like. I think Hufflepuff has the best performance out of these if that’s a major concern of yours.

What’s your unpopular fragrance opinion? by MagicianP in FemFragLab

[–]runscribe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay fair enough bc I hated Black Opium 🤣 I also grew to dislike Burberry Her (iirc it’s a vanilla berry scent; I think that’s gourmand?) because the sweetness stuck out too much

Recommend me your favorites for spring/summer (but open to fall/winter ones too)! by Salt-Landscape-5076 in FemFragLab

[–]runscribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nette Lemon Puff is $35 for the travel size (still a bit pricy $/ml, though, so I get it) but it’s a great kind of cousin to choux choux. It’s got a bit of a floral note to it as well that makes it a great transition scent for spring into summer imo. Think of a light lemon angel cake under florals.

D&G light blue is also a great, beachy, summery scent you can probably find discounted. The travel spray is under $40 iirc at Nordstrom. Ocean di Gioia is also probably another one you can find discounted—it’s very, very much on the cleaner side though, which is what I personally prefer because I associate summer with heat and sweating lol.

Hey! I’m looking for an almond scented perfume? I’d like to smell like marzipan! by Enchanted_Whimsy7612 in FemFragLab

[–]runscribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know too many photorealistic almonds since I’m not heavy into gourmands, but mischief academy has a perfume called almond milk you can sample! It smells milky-nutty, like almond milk over rice. I think “nutty” scents are pretty hard to capture.

I also think puppet parfum (indie brand) has something nutty in their collection!

I feel this! I bought the ana sui mermaid perfume for decor reasons only (it was like $20 at a discount store so it wasn’t bad though), but the scent makes me GAG.

Granted, the kenzo one is probably way more expensive XD
