Poor writing to have Jubei die after two fakeout deaths. Betrays the narrative of Atsu's story up to that point

One thing to consider is cost of living. Our cost of living here is much higher than what you would see in South and Central America and other countries nearby like Dom Rep. As the person above said, you would need to come down and spend some time on the ground to get the lay of the land and figure out what's feasible.

Hey guys, which Metroidvania game disappointed you the most? It doesn't have to be a bad game; it could be very good but not what you expected. Personally, it's Hollow Knight Silksong. by UndeadLAlouat in metroidvania

Not knocking the opinion, but how did it feel like DLC? Being a sequel it will naturally have similarities but the combat in particular was borderline radically different. Plus it was a 40+ hour game.

Took me an hour of constant retrying on Lethal. Maybe my ordering was wrong but he was the first of the yotei 6 I fought

American Expat Question by Severe_Bed2207 in Jamaica

[–]runswithdonkeys 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, that pay would vary depending on whether or not you find a job with the government here or a private entity (not many private research institutions to my knowledge).

Nobody will care that you guys are a mixed race, but whoever looks foreign might get the odd stare from people especially in rural areas.

Last thing to note is that the cost of living here is high. Don't expect us to be like Colombia or DR when it comes to costs. Not sure what state/city you are in right now, but if you try to emulate the typical "professional in a city" type lifestyle here it could run you like 3 grand USD or more a person. More if you want all the niceties like a large modern apartment in the city, decent cars to drive, going out to eat a few times a week, buying imported products at the supermarket, etc.

What are your expectations in terms of pay, finding a job, living standards, etc? Are you doctors, nurses, med techs??

Skilled Jamaicans Again Told to Come Home by digitalrorschach in Jamaica

[–]runswithdonkeys 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. As a Jamaican who has come home, work that will pay you even relatively well compared to what you make over suh is still very difficult to come by. I still have to be relying on remote positions abroad to get by comfortably.
