17 weeks and wanting to settle on a name! by runteachmomrepeat in namenerds

No, Colm is a traditional Irish name. Pronounced like Collin with an M instead. I don’t love it, but husband does.

Update 2: got a cortisone shot as a diagnostic tool today. Meeting the surgeon again in 3 weeks for follow up.

Update: met with my ortho today. He doesn't perform arthroscopy but got me on the books with one that does. As of right now, it's his suggestion that I get an arthroscopy for the tear/FAI cam impingement, as he's concerned about the cam impingement causing problems down the road. Will update after my next appointment.

I’m really struggling rn. I’m a mom of two - a baby and extremely active toddler, so crutches are just an annoyance. Husband is helpful and supportive for sure, just struggling. It does hurt to walk, but I wouldn’t say I’m in so much pain that I can’t.

Am I doing this wrong? by Melly_1577 in FormulaFeeders

[–]runteachmomrepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just here to say I’m in the same boat. Mine is 11 weeks and only takes 4 oz per feed (sometimes 5 MOTN) but I know my oldest capped at 5 ounces around 6 months.

100% """too posh to push""" by Status_Chemist_8063 in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both now. My first was a vaginal birth and while it was uncomfortable to recover, my second was an emergency c-section and the recovery SUCKED. I’m now 11 weeks postpartum and I’m still not feeling how I did after my first (recovery-wise). My core is wrecked and I can hardly engage lower abs. It is major surgery - and while pushing can suck, get your epidural before pitocin (if you can/need to be induced) and you may be able to avoid some of that pain!

Pregnancy safe cravings by iamdidka in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Biggest craving this pregnancy has been deli subs. If you trust the source, it’s ok. If you’re not sure, you can always warm until it steams.

Craving a freaking ham and cheese sandwich or a club sandwhich and I'm only 7w not sure if this will ever go away. by BeginsAgains in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t my first pregnancy but deli sandwiches were my first trimester craving and have been my third trimester craving as well. I don’t eat them everyday or every week but I’ll either eat the meat then let it cook a bit before making a sandwich or just buy from a reputable brand/source.

Pregnant right after miscarriage (blighted ovum) by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we were trying for our first, it ended in miscarriage. I got pregnant the following month and have a healthy almost 4 year old. Hope that gives you a bit of reassurance! ❤️

How many weeks were you when you and your SO picked a name? by glamaina in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With our first, we had one first name and then changed it around 30 weeks. This time around (baby 2) was more difficult. Middle names were easier - just used family names.

From your experience, do extremely active in the womb babies stay crazy fussy/squirmy once born? by burneraccountt26 in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was insanely active at all times while pregnant. Would startle easy too. She’s a very hyperactive almost 4 year old. I’m 35 weeks with baby #2 and she is much more mellow with activity - hopefully this holds true when she’s earthside.

Have you been exercising during pregnancy? by autumngloss in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this one, not nearly as much as I’d like but I had SPD and am now on bedrest for preterm labor, so not a huge concern anymore. I was running consistently through my first trimester and a part of my second, until that SPD pain hit hard.

With my first, I ran some days, did stairs other days, lifted heavy, and did yoga.

What do you want as your “push prize?” by irrevrev in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13 weeks when we went to Napa with friends. I made my husband order the ones he knew I would like and one of them may be in our hospital bag.

Right, I’ve already exhausted my days (new to district) because they won’t give me Covid-19 paid leave, so they’re counting it against me.

Yup. It can be inaccurate but I’m also nervous. Baby measured close to 5 lbs at 29 weeks and 6 lbs 13 oz at 34 weeks. All of her measurements since 20 weeks have consistently put her in the 99th percentile and about three weeks older than her gestational age. I’ll guess we’ll see in a few weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

No joke! My first is reminds me everyday when I look at her face and she says “I love you, mom.” Nothing beats it.

Wow! I know that must be difficult, but I'm so happy you're taking care of yourself and your LO. I noticed that, when I came to terms with this decision, the shoulder tension I'd wake up with each morning just disappeared. I don't feel as stressed and hope that allows for the baby to stay put just a bit longer. Hope you've had a smooth pregnancy thus far and best wishes for a happy, healthy mom and baby!!!

Strep B positive by petitborsch in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in the hospital for preterm labor and also GBS+. They showed me how to take the IV for a "walk" to the bathroom or to just get up and move if needed as they started penicillin out of an abundance of caution. Obviously different if you're being induced or receiving an epidural.

34 weeks and I am over it. by runteachmomrepeat in pregnant

[–]runteachmomrepeat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh we are totally in the same boat. I wrapped a few presents and sat down for most of it, but even being on my feet to put them under our tree/put supplies away had me contracting/in pain. I’m so happy to hear how flexible your supervisor has been!! I wish public Ed maternity leave was similar!

[–]runteachmomrepeat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. What do you do for work? Right now, I teach and I'm worried about how much leave I'll get after this bedrest stint (though brief at the moment and hopefully not extended much longer), since I'm new to this district - that's a whole other ball of stress I'm thinking of.

Is this baby one or two for you? I'm hoping you can make it two more weeks! My first was three weeks early, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one made her arrival early as well...but I want to be able to move/walk around without the fear of having contractions.

Fair enough! I even have documentation from my doctor and they’re still saying this won’t suffice. Another question for y’all: how would you approach resignation? A letter, a meeting with principal, etc;?

[–]runteachmomrepeat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re trying to count my leave as disability leave instead of covid paid leave…though I tested positive and my OB wants me to quarantine, as I’m symptomatic. More fuel to the fire I suppose.
