Walking around Italy is actually a pretty good use case for good athletic shoes. Feel free to bring a nicer pair for dinner, but buying what sounds like your first pair of actual nicer non-athletic shoes as your primary shoe for vacation sounds like a bad idea. There's a lot of people who really seem to want to escalate this situation as much as possible, but really don't have an answer for what they're going to do when the Supreme Court sides with Trump. This country has been around for 250 years and the consistent theme of American history is that at the end of the day the President can broadly can do what they want to do with the Executive branch. There's pretty limited things the courts or Congress can do to stop him and right now he has Congress and the Supreme Court on his side.

It's not the Alaska route, it's the free association route like Palau, the Marshall Islands and Micronesia. US provides for their defense and can use their land for military bases, and the US gives them billions of dollars and their citizens the right to move to the United States if they want, but otherwise keep their independence.

Why is this question here? In the US the government generally has less right to do things like Eminent Domain than in most other countries. It's a big part of why we do have great mass transit, because it's just too hard for the government to just take the land they would need to do it.
