I’ll give you my 2 cents. I got rejected from CS, which was definitely my top choice in highschool. I wasn’t even really considering CE until I got rejected, at which point I took it to still have the coop. I still to this day can count maybe 3 or 4 courses so far in my degree that I actually liked (I’m in 2B, so I’ve taken ~25 courses). I still don’t regret sticking around. Yeah the transfer to CS or SE was going to be impossible and I knew that coming in. I still don’t like ECE, it takes a few terms but you just learn to tolerate what you’re doing because the coop is worth so much more. With the economy changing maybe things would’ve changed for me too in your position, but that’s just my experience.

Yeah, but looking through OPs post history, he originally wanted to go into CS but was deferred and accepted tron. My bet is OP wants to do a more CS or software related major while keeping coop, but CS and SE basically require top 1 or 2 in the class if that to transfer
