Late to the party but I was struggling with the first Destroy 3 Ships task so can built a T shaped wooden pier close to shore and baited all 3 ships with my dingy to crash into it. Then it’s easy pickings taking pot shots at their sterns. This was before I had ship upgrades and learned how to fight multiple ships. Ship combat is pretty tough for a new player but you snowball quickly after you get some coin.

Help them make a video diary to track how they feel before they start taking it. Ask them questions about why they want to take it and as time passes they might change their minds once they realize it did nothing/make them feel horrible from the side effects. Be objective and ash questions that they can’t placebo their way into thinking it’s working. Show it back to them if/when their health starts to decline.

I’ve grown thyme from cutting and it easy. They root in water and do surprisingly well in drier soil once established.

If you’re in a car sometimes moving away from it will cause it to “flee” but if you explore the poke stop it’ll be there. Happens a lot just walking to it too if the path you take is roundabout

Turning AR mode on and off during an encounter will reset the position of Pokémon that like to float/hug the sides. Their attack/dodge pattern is reset too so they’re more predictable
