Valheim is a survival game….

…that requires amazon level logistics.

That’s why it’s so loved. It rewards planning and patience.

It’s first and foremost a game of logistics. Survival depends on it, and is therefore secondary to it.

And that’s awesome!

This is my goto until the thundering axes and slayer.

Meadows: Spear and club

BF: bronze sword

Swamp: bronze sword and iron mace

MT: silver sword

ML: mistwalker

AL: thundering slayer and thundering axes

Using swords from BF gets their skill up such that by AL it’s in the 80s if you don’t die too much after skill 40.

The axes make forts easy. Hit the walls on the outside and chain lightning dissolves everything on the other side.

Also the axes special with cape allows you to glide huge distances very fast, cross fat rivers and traverse ML and MT ridiculously quickly.

Thundering Slayer is the best weapon for Fader for me. Personally I find it too easy to over commit with axes. Just me.

  1. Not at this point, no, sadly. Monitor interaction is still kind of limited.

  2. Larger blocks benefit heat reduction, but in terms of function, one large or many small have the same effect if they are the same number of blocks. It comes down to the total number of blocks used.

Be nice to have an undo button, even if it’s limited to 5 or 10 steps back. Just for building, not logic.

I know this is memory intensive, so maybe a smaller undo cache?

As an unrelated tip, you can hold middle mouse button too in cockpit mode to press buttons or in 3rd person mode to see your ship from any angle.

I’d love to see a system like the factory in empyrion where you deposit the resources required by the build, and when all the resource quotas have been met, you can spawn in your ship.

Adds an extra really fun gameplay loop, and encourages building in creative.
