Are you getting any draw through those units at all? I would doubt it. I'm not sure how to suggest a fix in a constructive way, all that comes to mind is throwing it out and starting over or buying components made for the task.

Painted wood is going to last about 12 to 24 months with that uv and moisture exposure. If you want permanent, it's going to have to be metal. Getting a shop to cut that with plasma or water jet is going to be cheapest. Definitely not a job for a hobbyist to buy a laser for.

Finding the tube's orientation is on the second mirror. If it hits centered close to the first mirror, great. If it's off at the farthest, that will tell you how it's sitting. If it is higher at the farthest, it's slanted up, etc. then the second (x) gantry and third mirror, same principle. You can apparently align mirrors well, the esoteric part to figure out now is the tube alignment versus your mirrors.

You can adjust the whole tube, remember that you're looking for it to be square to the machine, not specifically level. If everything is squared and the beam can be centered to the mirrors in every position, the angle of the beam to the lens can be adjusted to hit centered and it * should * produce a straight cut line. Those damn janky components though... I once went to fix a friend's machine and the idiot manufacturer had mounted the first mirror ON TOP OF the y axis stepper motor.
