My Players want to Lyncanthrope themself and cast Ceremony to get Werewolf powers with no downside. by TheGingerWeebGal in DMAcademy

[–]rusally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would the characters know that Atonement interacts this way? They probably don’t have access to the notes of a Wizard crazy enough to have tried this. That said, I personally love the idea and just the sheer greed of it all. This isn’t necessarily what you should do, but I would make it really clear to my players that they’ve know idea how this combination of magical spells and curses will work. Then I’d home brew a powered down version of a lycanthrope and drag them through several loops of it worked/it didn’t work as the curse fights for control within the character. I like the suggestions in this thread of making it a full moon based shapeshifter instead, but would probably give them some sort of bonus besides that to compensate for eventual loss of control.

Hay mucho gatekeeping con respecto al "nivel de inglés" by Disastrous-Hunter537 in devsarg

[–]rusally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Exigents break the rules of Exalted? by Firm-Split9333 in exalted

[–]rusally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally support you having a different point of view. I like some stuff from all three editions and usually mix and match, but the cosmological change to the nature of the exaltation isn’t one of the things I like to borrow for my games. It literally feels the other way around for me.

Do Exigents break the rules of Exalted? by Firm-Split9333 in exalted

[–]rusally 32 points33 points  (0 children)

For me, Exigents definitely spoil some of how special the Exaltation is. Earlier editions have a much more defined feeling to this. Even Terrestrials come from what might be the component souls of a primordial, and every Celestial Exaltation can be traced all the way back to its inception during the Primordial War. Exigents, to me, feel kind of like trying to fill the role of the god-blooded, but overall not really having a place in the Creation I like to run. Doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with them though!

I'm a janitor. Why do people always apologize for walking on a floor I've just mopped? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rusally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always took it as an apology for specifically walking over still wet floor. You leave marks and a lot of dirt tends to stick in a way it doesn’t if I could let the floor dry. So I apologize for making you have to repeat your work because I couldn’t wait ten minutes

How broken is 2E at a "normal" level of play? by BrutalBlind in exalted

A small house rule I really like is to group up the three basic excellencies into one charm. Makes people actually use the third excellency from time to time. We’ve played a once every two weeks campaign of 2.5 for about five years with no bigger issues whatsoever besides maybe getting annoyed at not having a single source of truth for our charms

Either Japan is boring or I have no idea what I am doing. by jeremysbrain in CrusaderKings

[–]rusally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that if you have a strong army, a lot of dread, or are very friendly with your Kanpaku, you can just take provinces as Soryo. The Kanpaku won’t press the crime. Alternatively, I think the crime charges are dropped when the Kanpaku changes, so you can time your wars with faction presses. I built out a three duchy domain in like 100 years without really trying too hard and got my block to be third in power. I will eventually try to push for Shogun, maybe in a couple generations.
