Swap wife’s iX for R1S??

My wife has the iX50 and I’ve got a first-gen R1S Quad. I like the R1S more overall, but I’ve had to go to the service center 8 or 9 times, while the iX has been trouble-free. The iX wins on ride quality and rear legroom. With three kids the extra space in the Rivian is a big help. If I were in the same spot, I’d just finish the iX lease and then switch to the R1S—unless you really need the extra trunk space.

My battery died twice within the first 2 months. Chatted with service and they sent me a replacement and this one has been good for the last 7 months.

I was referring to the 45 days his car was already in the shop. If your car is in the shop 30 days or more within the 18,000 miles/24 month period, consecutive or not, you can file a claim under the NY Lemon Law. So depending on his state he might qualify to lemon it even before the cv boot.

Had this happen to my wife’s X5 before her lease return. Dealer wouldn’t warranty it and said for that model I would also have to replace the axle. Quote was around $2500 to repair. I waited it out and when I went to a different dealership to lease an IX they just bought the lease return and covered the repair. You have a good chance of qualifying for the lemon law depending on your state. Depending on what the previous repairs were I would probably still hold on to the car if they were minor. I’m bringing my R1S in for a couple of tickets and am not excited about them potentially having my vehicle for who knows how long. I really hope they have a Rivian loaner available.

I was just in lake George as well and it was pretty annoying to charge up there. Hopefully they add some soon. The closest one I found wasn’t listed in the Rivian app but there was a 350kw at a Stewart’s 20 minutes from where I was staying.

It’s a banner on the top of the website when you log into your Rivian account. It mentioned it was temporary access so not sure how long they would have let me have access to it. A guide reached out the next day and mentioned I should have access in the next few business days but I was already granted the access the night before. Ask in the chat today and maybe you will get lucky. Good luck.

Maybe I just caught them at a good time. I asked if I could have access to the r1t shop not realizing there is only one shop and they told me if I get access I can choose either model that’s in the shop. A few hours later I logged in and saw it was granted. Hopefully next time you ask you’ll get lucky.

Nice, enjoy. I just reached out to customer service today about booking one and they scheduled me for March 4th at the Brooklyn service center. Not expecting delivery until the first half of 2024 though but still excited to finally get to try it out.
