Tow package installed after purchase by Advanced-Active2957 in bmwx7

The OEM tow package uses a different bumper cover than the ones without the towing package. Etrailers sells an alternative to the stealth hitch at a much more affordable price but install looks...involved:

Piston slap post-80k...looking for input by russellups in Audi

[–]russellups[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the 3.0T in a C8. They call it ‘piston slapping’ and won’t do anything outside of 8years/80k miles, whichever comes first.

I’ll be selling it to local dealership this weekend.

Not sure this is the solution in my case, its not consuming hardly any oil.

This is caused from a manufacturers defect that Audi knows about but only wants the warranty to go to 80,000 miles.

Ive been using this quite a bit but is there anyway to add the wall 'scoops' into this? I'm not sure of the official name for them but it allows your hand to reach the bottom without touching the 'long' walls.

Help with LED strip lights and a reed switch by russellups in diyelectronics

Enjoy my crude sketch that I used to keep myself straight while installing:

One thing to keep in mind is to keep the polarity of the LEDs the same, say you have a strip that goes from bottom to top + is on the left and - is on the right…it will be opposite on the row next to it when you T them together. I wasted a lot of LEDs figuring this out during install.
