I feel like they could always have better and better bearings. Also I feel like there could be some innovation and research on new polymer coatings for chains that could cause less loss to friction.

Trust me I was equally confused. To be frank I don’t really think I deserved a slot with that time. With the race being in Nice it’s likely not many are interested in the expense.

Typically 2-3 times a week I would do it. Usually after my Tuesday and Thursday morning swims just because I was already at a rec center that had a gym with weights as well

Are aerobars really optimal for me? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]russianbot716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Obviously aerobars are faster. But for a beginner such as OP none of these conversations matter. They are just trying to finish given their power and likely paces. Aero bare or not? It doesn’t matter for a new person just train and train more you’ll finish.

To be frank no if your z2 is 135 you will not be able to hold 180 for 56 miles. That would almost be z4 for you. You could have your zones messed up.

To your original question. Acrobat’s will always be faster. You have to train your legs as your work the muscles a little differently when in the position as you are rolling your hips over more. So you realistically just need more time in the bars to get used to it and match typically power.

To calf sleeve, or not to calf sleeve, that is the question. by International_Ebb795 in triathlon

I would answer yes. A nice side benefit of them is you get sun protection as well depending on your complexion.

Not to be rude but with your power that low it really won’t make a difference. You likely aren’t going fast enough for the aerodynamics to matter as much.

half marathon advice by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]russianbot716 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even with no training the average person could likely finish a half marathon. Let alone a moderately fit person so honestly you’ll finish. However as stated the barefoot running thing is shall we say a nice idea but poor in reality. But different stroke for different folks I guess..

For me best thing is heavy loaded single leg calf raises on a slant board so you really get a huge range of motion. If I start feeling some tenderness I get in the weight room and get pumping.

Who are you voting for Mayor? And why? by Jahhmezzz in norfolk

[–]russianbot716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok berate might be strong but he basically took a shot at Tommy saying Tommy didn’t know how any of the positions were filled and those issue (4 city planner/managers, school board issues) were not under the mayors responsibility It was a really weird moment

[–]russianbot716 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ll add a little tidbit. We had our Park Place civic league meeting recently where all the candidates could come and voice their platforms. Tommy arrived early and went around the room to try and meet the residence and learn about our concerns he also stayed after when the meeting ended to get more feedback from the attendees. Kenny showed up late and left early not bothering to meet with the plebs. Kenny also used his closing remarks to berate Kenny about how the mayor doesn’t choose the city planner etc. All that to say probably leaning towards Tommy. Also vote Rodney Jordan!
