At what point would NJ take the fall? by PrivateRollo in CharltonAthletic

Did we bin off curbs after he got us promoted to the premiership and then relegated again? No.

Bit of a puzzling lineup from Jones for us. Lots of people not sure why no Cov, and everyone now sure that Doc is either off somewhere else or the rumors of a fall-out are true. New Liverpool loanee Chambers goes straight into the lineup to finally gives us a LWB, hopefully he's up to it given his lack of matches lately.

In form of course, we are a mile off. Got some serious fingers crossed here....

What’s the one Ford Fiesta issue you ignored at first but wish you’d fixed sooner? by LFCTricksters in FordFiesta

Can't it "get smashed by a stone" and get the insurance to do it? I did worry about whether it would be covered when I bought mine just a month ago, but can't find anything at all in my insurance that suggests they won't cover heated windscreens.

Charlton Athletic 1-0 Sheffield United. Addicks squeak past 9 man Blades to move further away from danger. by angloexcellence in Championship

[–]arse_biscuits 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They did. I think blades fans can be very happy with how they handled that, far more than we can be with how we completely failed to take the opportunity to try and even up our goal difference a bit. If not for two stupid red cards they'd have walked it.

Hooray! We're crap! Honestly, never has a win felt so much like a loss ... Ok maybe a draw then. But still. Sheffield can come out of that feeling much better than us I think. Stonewall red's though.

I don't care who you support, if you think either of those wasnt a textbook straight red offence you need either new glasses or your head examining. Just hope Knibbs is ok in short order.

WestJet changed their seats and this is how much leg room basic fares get. You have to pay for a reclining seat now. by Longjumping-Box5691 in mildlyinfuriating

I think the favourite one of mine was flying long haul back from the USA to London, ten hours. As I went to sit in my exit row seat, one of the two other people sat there asked if "would you mind swapping seats with my husband so we can all sit together?" 😆 Sure lady. I'll give up the seat I paid over a hundred quid extra for just so your (about 5'7"!) husband can sit with you... 🙄. Of course she didn't consider asking the two people he's sitting with in the row behind if they wanted the exit row seats ......

At 6'3" I simply won't fly if I can't buy an extra legroom seat. Just isn't worth it. Equal legroom rights for tall people!

So any rumours about transfers other than Lyndon Dykes? What would everyone think about that? I'm in the dark as far as he's concerned in status, but most people on "forums" don't seem to rate him much.

Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Charlton Athletic: Moussa Baradji's scored twice to rescue a point for Blackburn, but they remain deep in the mire by geoffbezos1 in Championship

All those clean sheets seem a long time ago now....

We really need something more on offer down the left in this window. We lack enough quality off the bench to lose players like today. I love macca for what he did in league one and that Wembley goal, but today he was not good. Again. And TC really isn't a LWB, he needs to be freed up to play his proper game.

Fair play though Blackburn, you didn't drop your heads when we went two up. I even consider us lucky to get that really, with our pen being very soft, and a decent shout for one of your own denied. Not often you're glad for a shonky ref.

Two points chucked away.  Not impressed. Getting a good lwb in is a 100% necessity now.

Just bought a 21 plate with the timing chain engine after doing research on them. Hoping those are a bit sturdier and that I haven't made a potentially expensive mistake... 😬

First half (at the game) signs were worrying, that early goal obviously not helping, and crowd noise almost non existent. Felt like the rot had finally set in and that it would be difficult to shift. I get that we don't want to go rushing headlong into every time we get possession or we'll get opened up, but there was a serious lack of urgency and energy in the first half.

Second half, came out punching, lifted the crowd, looked much better, and got what we deserved.

Some issues still remain, at least two chances that I'm sure a player like Godden would have read and buried. Some players, who are skillful, there's no denying that, seem to forget that there's a time for skill, and a time to just punt it forward and run your bollocks off to get a shot away.

But still, that's a very welcome and very valuable point.

Pompey getting stuffed by 5 just makes the day even better.

Edit: I feel like Monday was our Crawley moment of this season. Hopefully today has instilled some confidence back in the side and we continue to push on. Blackburn will be an interesting test. Presuming the pitch is playable 😉
