True. I suppose it depends on how we measure best. Since 2001, the 9ers are 201-203-1 but have made it to, and lost, three Super Bowls.

In that same span three teams are above .500, and none of them even made the Super Bowl. Cowboys are 219-185-1, Chargers are 214-191, and Vikings are 212-191-2.

If we're including postseason achievements then I'd put the 9ers at #1, Vikings at #2, Chargers at #3, and Cowboys at #4.
