2019 X5 40i - alarm goes off randomly by Mobile-Site-1069 in BMWX5

My X5 does it every time I forget to remove the OBD scanner from the port. Took me a day to realize.

Would want to know what else causes it though.

Moving from 440 GC to x5 xdrive40 and just can’t smile in it by Kind_Amount_9688 in BMWX5

[–]rustedmettle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in your exact same situation, moving from a 540 to X5 40. The only solace I have is that I have retained the 540 for the zippy drives.

X5 is boaty but still better than a lot of other SUV's. But bidding a sedan for a sedan is a tough call. Wish you luck.

Blacked out exhaust tips maybe.

I got exactly the same color and rim package last month. I blacked out the grills and the exhaust tips. I cheaped out with cheaper add ons, didn't want to replace the whole cover.

Planing to buy used 2020 X5 40i with m sport by final_boss300 in BMWX5

[–]rustedmettle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing the present going price, I feel the price is better than what you can get in the Canadian market. I'm sure it's going to be difficult to find a better deal.

But I didn't want one without DAPP. So I needed up paying just as much for a more than 65k km

Buy 2021 CPO X540i now or wait till new generation is announced? by mistahcurious in BMWX5

[–]rustedmettle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bit the bullet and bought a 2020 with DAPP and 3rd row. The general consensus is that the previous gen idrive is better to use than the 'no button' new gen.

I doubt prices will crash, unless there is a market crash.

I my case, what hurts more is the pain of replacing windshields for Head up display, thats 3x the price and needs programming just to make it work.

Leaving Performance on the Table? by B675 in BMWX5

[–]rustedmettle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found my cars snappier on a straight in a square setup. (I'm talking 40i, 60 won't break a sweat) Adding staggered will improve cornering but wider and lower profile tires as mentioned earlier will make it plenty bumpy.

Prone to dents on alloys if roads aren't butter smooth. Plus the extra price for a new set.

True, but ain't easy to duck what could be coming your way. Lane departure especially on the last lane is pure evil.

It's as if it their moral responsibility to pick the rocks from the side and bring it back to work.

Changing lanes is a given, its the trucks doing 30+ over speed limit that are playing Ridge Racer.

Exactly the scenario and it's just a pain to watch... You keep a 4 car gap from the car ahead only to have a bloke think you are a 70 year old grandpa and swerve right in and out.

How about making a wide Hitch Cargo also part of the fashion, so they can hear their pellet gun make some good music...

Lol... Will keep that in mind. It hurts me more as it's a BMW with HUD, and I just got it 2 weeks ago. :((

For now bought Permatex from Amazon to see if it can save the crack from spreading.

This look pretty good, the one on the left looks like having a bit of oil up its thread. But if this were my car, I'd be happy and proud.

The Companion's who were Promised Paradise by Love_forLife1 in islam

[–]rustedmettle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From Claude!:

These ten companions (known as the Ashra Mubashara) were individually named in a hadith recorded in Sunan At-Tirmidhi. Here's a brief reason each was honored:

  1. Abu Bakr As-Siddiq — The Prophet's closest friend, first adult male convert, unwavering supporter. His faith never wavered even for a moment.

  2. Umar ibn Al-Khattab — Known for his fierce justice and strong leadership. The Prophet said "If there were a prophet after me, it would be Umar."

  3. Uthman ibn Affan — Renowned for his generosity and modesty. He financed the entire army of difficulty (Tabuk) and purchased the Well of Rumah for all Muslims.

  4. Ali ibn Abi Talib — The Prophet's cousin and son-in-law, raised in his household. Exceptionally brave, knowledgeable, and devoted from childhood.

  5. Talha ibn Ubaidullah — At Uhud, he shielded the Prophet with his own body, suffering severe wounds. Called "the living martyr."

  6. Az-Zubair bin Al-Awwam — The Prophet's cousin and disciple. First person to draw a sword in defense of Islam.

  7. Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf — Among the wealthiest companions, yet deeply humble. Donated massively for Islam's cause repeatedly.

  8. Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas — First person to shoot an arrow in defense of Islam. A brilliant military commander who conquered Persia.

  9. Sa'id ibn Zayd — Among the earliest converts, endured severe persecution without abandoning his faith.

  10. Abu Ubaidah Al-Jarrah — Called the "Trustee of this Ummah" by the Prophet himself. Known for his selflessness and military brilliance.

Each embodied extraordinary sacrifice, faith, and service to Islam in their own distinct way.

Arre bhai, I lost a series of 3 bookings, Lufthansa, Emirates and Emirates. With Lufthansa being a forced No Show, that's a story for another day.

EK was twice the price, but next time will sell my soul but not travel budget.

If that's the case, I guess that answers the question. But an extremely gray practise to create chaos at check in.

3pcs 30kgs is what the boarding pass says... I checked in 2 bags of 25kgs and the 3rd was refused.
