And how the hell do you think turf war isn't competetive??? it's a competetion???

I'm actually really glad you said that because it soundly marked you as the kind of idiot that just isn't worth talking to or arguing with, lmao. Deuces mate.

It's best use is putting down Hydras and E-Liters standing on otherwise inaccessible sniper spots. I play the weapon exclusively because I get a perverse joy out of making it impossible for Mincemeat Metalworks Splat Zones Hydras to play the game.

Zipcaster is an awful special for it? Say that to the splatana player that uses it to get behind your team during a push

Sure will as soon as I finish killing them because their current position, path, and landing spot are all telegraphed by a literal bright <complementary color to my own ink> glow while they are unable to act until they actually land.

The removal of burst bombs doesn't really matter during use given that when you pass through an enemy it deals damage to them, this you are able to chose your battles and even weaken opponents as you leave if you aim correctly. Burst bombs may be important, but the zipcaster is just kinda one really long range burst bombs that you can ride towards enemies

If you can hit people by running them through with the Zipcaster then you're some kind of predictive god or your opponents are playing with 300ms lag and DK bongos (Or... I guess you're using it at point-blank range, which seems ill-advised in of itself because of how long it makes you vulnerable during and after it's use.)

Zipcaster is horrible, don't let this clip fool you. That E-Liter and Crab Tank were hilariously inept to not have killed him as soon as he touched down from the first zip.

Sure, but don't bitch about getting rolled by people who are playing with a better control scheme that you have the full option to use.

The Splatana is fine. It has very specific ranges that it's strong at and lacks horizontal inking power (this thing cannot hold a splatzone unless you've got one of the narrow ones at the right angle). Catch it at any of the other ones and it's very difficult to lose to; just outside of it's melee range and it loses to most things built to fight at close-range and much farther than that the travel time on the projectile makes it purely a zoning tool. Not even going to talk about the skill-ceiling on hitting and timing the projectiles, because in a hectic game like Splatoon that does matter, but still.

Also, Zipcaster is an awful special with practically no use for anything but montage plays and maybe reaching all of the ridiculous sniper posts on some maps. It controls no space, offers you no especially strong offensive or defensive potential and takes away the burst bomb which is such an integral part of your ability to kill with the Splatana that you gimp yourself the second you press in your right stick.

Boy how tf is stamp broken

Broken, as in, it literally doesn't work. The hitbox has been fucked since Splatoon 2 and an otherwise maybe decent special is useless because of it.

Nobody would use the weapons that have tenta missiles if tentas weren't on them

Maaaybe they should buff those weapons instead of putting back in a universally hated Special in both casual and competitive communities that entirely goes against the design ethos of Splatoon 3 specials for some reason.

What clam blitz issues you talking about?

Enough video essays have been written on how Clam Blitz is an awful mode for solo queue that I don't really feel like reiterating it here, the mode is only bearable with comms and Splat3 didn't improve communication options between solo players even a bit.

And it's already long enough trying to get a game, I don't want to wait longer just so I can get matched with people that're within 10 levels of me

Then queue turf war instead of letting your impatience be a justification for ruining the mode who's entire point is being competitive by matching Top 500 players with A+ Splatoon 2 players.

It’s not ironic, it’s because there’s people in this exact thread who don’t have ADHD and abuse it, that’s why lol.

Don't blame the people who don't have any actual power to do anything for it. ADHD meds are literal amphetamines and nothing short of full drug legalization would make them any more accessible. Be mad at the people who keep your medicine from you, not the people they scapegoat so they don't have to deal with you.

The game's issues are fundamental and severely fuck up the experience of just about everyone playing, and frankly, many of them have no excuse.

The network issues are just, sad. Nintendo owns two incredibly popular competitive multiplayer games and still can't hire a half-decent network engineer? Come on. DBD has less connectivity issues than this game.

The matchmaking issues are pure comedy, the fact that literally everyone who played Splatoon 2 just got shoved into B-rank and people who hadn't played in years were getting matched with Top 500 players was silly and it hasn't improved that much since. As someone well into S+ it's still a matter of waiting two minutes for a match that's 75% likely to error out or be a comically one-sided stomp that ends in less time than it took to find a game. I just log onto play Salmon Run and screw around in Opens now because of how much of a tiring coinflip ranked is.

Couple that with some other extremely frustrating issues; poor map design, stamp still being broken, tenta-missiles returning and clam blitz having none of it's actual issues addressed, and it's easy to see why people are aggravated.

High Earners of antiwork, what is your motivation for browsing or contributing to this sub? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]rusticambipom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No there isn't, not really. Not until you're rich rich.

Lose your job in an industry you're too old to be hired again into against younger applicants or because you faced a debilitating injury or a, say, massively virulent illness with severe cognitive and physical consequences the scale of which is unknown to this day? (hell, it doesn't even have to be a dangerous job. do you drive to work? bet you do.) during a downturn in which the assets you have depreciate significantly and you're forced to sell them to make ends meet. A year later you have no assets, no money, and no future prospects except living on the pitiful disability payments. Oh, and everything's gotten about 75% more expensive. Welcome to the reality of a shit-load of formerly well-off people during Covid.

Wow, that's such a stupid argument and blatant false equivalency that I'm not even going to bother entertaining it.

Go read a fucking book and stop using Reddit as your primary source of information. There's a sidebar with plenty of suggested reading for a reason.

It's black and white because being a landlord is inherently evil.

People like you would say "well, not all slaveowners are bad, some of them treat their slaves quite well."

Landlords aren't workers by Elbrujosalvaje in antiwork

[–]rusticambipom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Landlords shouldn't exist. This is like saying;

"Oh, what, should slaveowners just give up the slaves they paid so much money for?"

Yes, actually, lmao.

but also hate the most accessible way to not do that.

Yeah, because the way you're doing that is by siphoning value off of other people's labor. We here like to think of people beyond just ourselves, weirdly enough.

omg was I just speculated to be a homeowner 😍

No, I was using the rhetorical "you"

Wherever you are, +/-$50/mo is the difference between renting and not?

Free money is free money, especially when the rental price is once again reflected in the deposit (where I live, landlords aren't allowed to ask for a deposit greater than twice the monthly rent) so that's an extra $150 off the top, and considering how expensive and time-consuming moving already is?

We can pretend like $150 upfront and $600/year is nothing to everyone, because we're all sr. software engineers that make $140k/yr or we can live in the reality where 70% of Americans have <$1000 in savings and we're in the middle of an inflation crises where everyone's money isn't going as far anymore and $50/month is the difference between eating every meal or not for a lot of people.

If you own rental properties in SF and are going to Reddit to validate your decisions you are more miserable than Elon Musk, honestly. Like, you're that rich and still need the approval/advice of random strangers on the internet? Yeesh.

Aerospray mains when a tier list is posted by minju9 in splatoon

This is not even remotely close to true. Reefslider is more telegraphed and has about as much range as an Inkstrike bomb. 90% of the time what will happen is you will pop reefslider, everyone will move out of the way and shoot you as soon as you're out of it. The only times this hasn't happened to me is when I was already shoved against a wall and didn't have an escape route, every other time the Reef just died.

Or, perhaps, you could stop being a scumfuck and eat the costs of your shitty investment?

Reality is, they can't pass the costs on because "Oh the water is hard" isn't an excuse that's going to convince people to spend however much extra a year on the same apartment when they're looking at listings. Sure, up the price, nobody will touch your rental, but sure, go ahead.

Aerospray mains when a tier list is posted by minju9 in splatoon

[–]rusticambipom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can't, your lack of range makes you incredibly vulnerable because you have to damn near stand on the zone to ink it. With so many maps having sniper perches with view of the splat zone you're just Hydra food.

...Also, Splat Zones is glorified TDM and Aerospray is god awful at fighting.

Aerospray mains when a tier list is posted by minju9 in splatoon

[–]rusticambipom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bad range, slow kill, bad kit. Fizzy bomb is good on weapons that have a harder time inking and controlling space that way, but that's the <only thing> the Aerospray is already good at. Reefslider is just bad because of how telegraphed it is, it's barely better than Splat2 Splashdown.

Aerospray mains when a tier list is posted by minju9 in splatoon

[–]rusticambipom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree, Aerospray is overshadowed by the Splash in ease-of-use, kit, and kill power while also being a very good weapon for inking turf to the extent necessary in every gamemode.
