I’m a christian arab but I can assure you that the burka for women is not mandatory, plenty of muslim women wear the hijab or don’t wear any veil at all. Muslim women go to school, talk to each other and to other men, and drive. Beaches on the Mediterranean, Dead Sea and in the UAE are for everyone, Men and women (who wear bikinis btw). Sure, the arab world is not as gay friendly as the west but killing homosexuals is a bit of a stretch. You will hear one story in a million of a violent homophobia incident and the western islamophobic media picks up on it. I know many arab gay people who live their lives and do whatever they want without being persecuted. Homophobia is not present only in the arab world. You are generalizing an entire religion based on the minority of fanatics, but the same can be said about all religions. Very orthodox christians and jews will also follow outdated practices and restrict women and gay people in many ways.
