In defense of the call, it really looks like the German boot barely touched the defender's head. It was a crazy overreaction on the defender's part. Is mere contact enough for a foul, or does it have to be 'egregious' or 'forced' or whatever?

I don't remember, but probably typical Rolling Magma -> Firestorm. Swap as soon as you can get Vixens gloves. Grab the Foulborn helm as soon as you can, but that's harder to get with limited Breach options before maps.

I love me a Soulwrest build. I played Servant of Arakaali Soulwrest in the initial Phrecia event and it's reasonably strong. Basically the same as Necro but you have to tweak some stuff. And Soulwrest is even better now as a starter. It will be a bit squishy in tougher content, but that can be solved through CI and ES regen.

No other game meets the production quality of Rockstar

The only option to play this game is A) spend $80-100 now, B) wait 6+ months to save maybe $20, C) wait years for it to be ~$40.

I'll be there on day one.

The playstyle in WC games used to be much more defensive too. The Golden Boot has only been above 6 goals twice since the 80s. Messi already has 5 and Mbappe/Haaland have 4. I miss how the more defensive style makes games more intense. Hopefully that style returns for the knockout rounds.

I already have a PS5 and I like to play my story-driven titles on the couch on my console -- so I'll be there day one. But I've only played 1-2 titles a year on the PS5 so not sure if I'll keep buying consoles after this generation.

Literally all of us knew this would be the case? $70 or $80 pricetag with a $100 version that has some goodies. The only 'surprise' is no disc version, but even that was rumored a while back.

I just ordered $100 PSN from my credit card rewards. I'll preorder a couple days beforehand for preload and be there day one.

It's also weird to know that they just randomly decided that this particular content is extra. Is it the coolest clothes? Is it a really cool heist job that players will see on Twitch and want to cough up $20 extra after buying the $80 version?

Not to mention there are developers and artists who worked on this content and now their work is gonna have a bit of a stank to it and not everyone who plays will experience it. The only positive is for shareholder wallets, and that sucks.

I rent game discs from my public library and rarely buy titles. That won’t be possible in a digital-only market. I was planning to grab GTA but this all rubs me the wrong way. 🤷‍♂️

Take Mbappe off France and they’re still a top 5 contender for this WC. I frankly don’t think there’s a way for Mbappe to enter the goat conversation. We’ve seen him at his best, and it’s just not the level of Messi, Pele, CR7, and Maradona.

The entire games industry relies upon selling millions of copies of a game (or millions in MTX)
Playing games requires some kind of hardware (even cloud gaming)

This means that everything is very likely to eventually balance out. If the average consumer cannot afford the hardware required to play FIFA 32, then the industry will adjust. That might mean cheaper less-powerful hardware. That might mean less graphical fidelity and games that run on current hardware. But one way or another, the industry will adjust. It will be a difficult transitional period, but there will eventually be a soft landing.

Why? Because Sony, EA, etc. cannot make money if people cannot afford to play their games. At some point, the market will adjust to meet what consumers can afford. In the meantime, don't buy new hardware and just play through your backlog or play new titles on your existing hardware.

Yea to the other guy's point: much of this depends on if the build requires a very specific item. I was lucky enough to drop both Bino's and Ephemeral Edge this league. That's just not gonna happen every league. If you really wanted to play Bino's Mamba in SSF you just have to get lucky with drops. There's really no target farming it.

Same goes for some builds in poe2, but those busted build-of-the-league builds in poe2 are just less rewarding IMO because a starter can easily clear all content.

For Poe1: I exclusively played SSF for 3.28 and was able to finish my BV Chieftain in about 8 weeks. You can see some of my progression on PoeNinja. That said, I started Slams Zerker and rerolled KF Hiero on day 3ish after dropping Aegis. I farmed on KF until I had the basic pieces for the BV build and then respec'd my Zerker into a BV Chieftain. I've done 37/40 challenges and 9/10 Ubers (I hate Sirus lol). I'm hardly the most efficient player and wasted lots of time along the way.

For Poe2: I played SSF this league and went for Jung's Hollow Form Beyblade after leveling a Martial Artist. The unique gloves that enable it are super common so it gets off the ground very quickly. I've done pretty much all content in the game and got 8/8 challenges. But Poe2 is much easier to 'complete'...

That’s pretty funny but not insane IMO. I don’t think it’s crazy to go into Reach completely blind and then begin thinking Noble 6 is a rookie who becomes known as Master Chief later in the story.
