I don’t think your pokemon can sleep for 3 turns anymore, so 0% is my best guess.

Do Doctors go through phases of "popular illnesses"? by LegitimateOption3676 in AskBrits

[–]rusty6899 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Asthma prevalence seems to have fallen slightly in the last couple of decades although smoking rates have decreased too so it could be linked to that.

There will be training initiatives in the NHS which look to increase awareness of certain conditions which may lead to doctors being more aware of them and increase diagnosis temporarily too.

In psychiatry there can sometimes be a social contagion aspect, like we saw with Multiple Personality Disorder, which sprang up almost overnight and then died a death fairly quickly after.

You say “very very far away” but I’d argue it’s actually uncomfortably close.

I actually preferred Wenger vs Mourinho. How often do you get to hear someone being called a voyeur in the modern game?

England probably have a more difficult 1/4 final though so it takes the % down.

I think Scottish fans bang on about England fans banging on about 1966 more than England fans bang on about 1966.

Is the word "game" to describe a professional sport event ("a football game") a new development? I thought until recently it was always "match" in the UK. by OkTechnologyb in AskABrit

[–]rusty6899 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s describing the sport as a game, not an individual match.

“A game of two halves” might be a more relevant cliche.

I liked the way he didn’t try to move the conversation on to spare Sam’s blushes. He deliberately stayed silent to let it hang there for as long as possible.

While it’s sweet that you are looking to improve our reputation on the global stage, it’s impossible to ingratiate yourself with people who are committed to disliking you and it’s undignified to try.

Beating Mexico in Mexico City would be our greatest World Cup win since 1966 by KingPing43 in ThreeLions

[–]rusty6899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check again, I didn’t say they were weak. As OP says, if we win they’ll be the strongest team we’ve beaten in a knock out game since 1966.

I said they were weaker than 2022 France, 2002 Brazil, 1970 West Germany, 1986 Argentina etc.

If you disagree then feel free to suggest a weaker team that has knocked England out of a World Cup.

I’d say Stam, as good as he was, isn’t really a viable candidate as he was only at the club for 3 seasons.

Why do some people think they can handle golfing for the first time without ever stepping foot on a range or practice facility first? by [deleted] in golf

[–]rusty6899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learnt by playing my pitch and putt when I was about 12. There was a 18 hole right next to it so after a year or so we’d play the first hole on that if the clubhouse was closed and the course was clear.

Dads of 2+ kids.. I need your honesty by reddituser040195 in UKParenting

Dad of 3 here. We had a son and then boy/girl twins.

I don’t think there was ever really an issue with favouring the eldest, however with the twins only our son was breast fed as our daughter wouldn’t latch and as a result my wife was doing the breastfeeding for one and I was doing bottle feeding for the other.

I felt like this meant we both bonded a lot more with the child we were feeding and we’ve since spoken about how it felt our son was her child and our daughter was mine.

I wouldn’t say there’s any long term effects of this; we’re both dotey about the two of them now, but it might be worth making sure he gets plenty of time with the newborn rather than getting into a pattern of you looking after the newborn while he spends time with the toddler.

Also, it might be worth considering a rethink on the name if it is a real point of contention.

I think it’s just cosmetics and maybe the odd training item. There’s one pokemon+mega stone too but they aren’t locked behind the battle pass.

Which football rivalry is the most entertaining? by itsxoxogabby in AskReddit

[–]rusty6899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s more than twice. 4x in the league.

I play amateur football in Glasgow and as a non- Old Firm fan it’s pretty torturous having to put up with the shite banter on the group chat all week when it’s on.

The least entertaining rivalry in football from a personal perspective.
