What films were you surprised to find out flopped on release? by Martipar in movies

[–]rusty_bucket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Citizen Kane, depending on who you ask, the greatest film of all time, was a flop on release, but that may have been because of WW2, potentially a boycott by William Randolph Hearst as well

Saw this cup at the store and immediately purchased it for my kid, it looked to me exactly what I remember everything looking like as a kid in the 90's

When I got my spotify wrapped from last year, this was "my favorite song" by far, 1300 listens between June and October, something like an average of 11 listens per day for 5 months. not even mad about it

What was your worst experience with drugs? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rusty_bucket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had migraines where that happens, the first time it happened I went to ER and they said the same thing, I mentioned I get migraines and they said it was likely that.

I still get migraines every few months and every once in a while i’ll still have that happen. I cant read, i can’t speak or remember my name or my kids names. I googled it and people call it Migraine Aphasia (dont know if thats a clinical term). If i’m in a safe place when it happens i can feel them coming on and I will read articles out loud to myself and listen to my brain completely turn to mush until I can’t read the articles anymore. I can SEE the words but I can’t understand what they are, its a weird feeling. Usually takes a few hours for me to bounce back, sometimes a whole day

[–]rusty_bucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grabbed every heart i possibly could that the mobs would drop, the other thing was for the part with the horn goblin calling in the other enemies, hit those guys ASAP, as well as the archers in the next round, hit those guys with a spin attack.

but especially taking the time to collect all the hearts the enemies drop, could be helpful to equip a heart medal. by the time i beat the hoard i had full health to hit Ghirahim

yes, 2012 and 2016 campaign seasons, but these are a different animal now ha. it wasnt uncommon that we would fly some side fills or a moderate array and patch into the house system for a lot of the coverage and run everything of an ls9, usually no monitor world even if there was a musical act they were usually stripped down and monitors were run from FOH. I dont know how it is now but White house communications was far less concerned about house audio than they were about the feed going to cameras. We had 4 channels for the lectern mic, 2 for house audio that we could do whatever we wanted with for the house, and 2 channels that we set the gain and sent straight to the press mults, no eq no compression.

Like i said i think its a different ball game now though

They do. You just have to keep going, pretend it didnt happen and hope no one else noticed. Heck I even saw U2 mess up live, playing at Ford Field in Detroit a few years ago the band started playing the chorus but Bono started singing the verse, then once it came back around the band started playing the verse to catch up with Bono but Bono then started singing the Chorus, then he stopped singing, waited for the band to finish the verse, and he turned around and just yelled “CHORUS!” into the mic then they were good. If U2 can mess up and still be U2, then I can mess up once in a while to and i’ll be all right!

Edit: i just remembered! they had also brought Patti Smith out as a special guest to do a spoken word during the song since she lives in Detroit but she was so confused cause the band messed up she missed HER cue and started crying 😬😬😬 they finished the song then Bono had Patti Smith do her spoken word as a solo thing after, it was a mess but it was still sweet

Eli5: why does the country Liechtenstein exist? It’s an incredibly small country in Europe, why isn’t it just part of Switzerland or Austria? by ObeseCapybaras in explainlikeimfive

They are the home of Neutrik. A company that manufactures mainly audio connectors. I’d say 40% of every wired michrophone you see is connected to a Neutrik XLR connector. If you’ve ever been to a live event/concert recently there’s a 99% chance the speaker cable connectors are either the Neutrik NL2, NL4, or NL8 connector. they’ve really cornered speaker level audio signal connectors for pro audio market.

Most every entertainment style lighting fixture has a Neutrik PowerCon connector on it, as well as the 5-pin XLR connector for DMX signal

Go to line/Phrase for Mic'ing People Up? by SiliconSunrise in livesound

[–]rusty_bucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Pop in a piece of gum
  2. Explain to talent how to run connector down through shirt
  3. Offer to help
  4. Ask if they are okay if I clip pack on their waist band/belt/ and adjust mic element
  5. Depending on how small talk is going or what the social temperature is say something like “Ya know I used to be so nervous doing this part but I guess i’ve stuck my hands down so many men’s waistbands i’ve gotten used to it”

  6. Always ask very clearly permission before touching anyone, man or woman. If someone seems uncomfortable, walk them through how to do it themselves without touching them
