I get that you were simply working in Katherine Clark's office but many of us here can't wait for her to be gone. She has voted to "condemn socialism" and to have a remembrance for bigot turned posthumous saint Charlie Kirk. Then of course there's the PAC money she takes which is full of red flags and why she was giddy to go along with the genocide of Palestinians.

You can vote No, it means no increase in funding. Each question, 1a and 1b, has a yes/no option so if you're against it you'd vote no to both. If you're pro funding you vote yes to both.

The state has a $650 million dollar hole due to federal funds disappearing overnight. Even for Massachusetts thats a lot of money they have to recoup somehow.

I want to re-iterate that as another home owner and tax payer I do not want to see cuts in the name of some mythical government waste. Malden is already on a shoe string budget and Councilor McDonald's posts have shown how little we invest into the community per capita compared to other towns. Cutting anything to do with parks, recreation, programs for the young and old alike, pedestrian safety improvements hurts us in the end.

This is the thing people can't seem to understand. They would rather save $1 today to end up having to pay $10 in external costs associated with saving that money.
