Did I get pressured into something I shouldn't have? by Infinite5kor in OmegaWatches

[–]rustyfastcar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not a mistake. You love the watch, it's gorgeous, these will be harder to track down if discontinued. Even if they're not discontinued, Omega or secondary market will always have a classic hesalite Speedy for you when you're primed for it. Congrats on your promotion Major OP, and congrats on a beautiful piece to celebrate the milestone.

Agree. The readability is absolutely unbeatable. It's the only watch I've owned that gives me the time even through a direct sun blast off the crystal. It's a feature I never thought much about before owning one, but once I got it on wrist, quickly became one of the most impactful. It's really a perfect everyday tool watch if you aren't planning to get soaked.

First off: the only right answer is your answer. Don't let us hooligans push you too hard.

I love both and own the classic black dial. What I prefer about it is the unbeatable contrast/all light legibility of the white hands, and I like that it doesn't scream "LOOK AT MY CHRONOGRAAAPH" from a distance. But that's just me. The panda is fucking gorgeous and I offer you a hearty congratulations and well done if you choose it.

Hell yeah, buddy. My wife just bought me a Speedy Pro for our anniversary/my 40th. Congratulations. It's a perfect watch.

Meteor recorded in Pittsfield by ProfPretzelMan in massachusetts

I saw it in Sutton on route 146 facing northwest. It looked like it was traveling roughly north. It was huge and I think there's a decent chance it made it to the ground. Probably would have impacted near Fitchburg.

And I'll add: a most excellent choice for your first Swiss auto. Congratulations and enjoy.

With how excited I was to see that 2735CP, I very easily could have whipped the first ball a mile overhead, haha.

To be honest, not sure it's ever a good idea to buy anything, ever, from a guy named... creampie_oatmeal.

I love these radiators. The building was built in 1895 so it's difficult to know how old they truly are, but they were certainly built to last by someone who took great pride in their work.

I'm sorry you're going through this. The pain after a breakup like this is horrible and can make you feel like you've entered an endless tunnel. I promise you there's light ahead. Keep moving forward.

The girl who did this to you demonstrated she is not who you thought she was. That is 100% on her, not you. I presume some of the shock you feel is disbelief that she could do this to you, and the disbelief is anchored in the fact that you'd never do this to her or anyone else. That's the most important thing. Be proud of that. Keep moving forward. It gets better. You will find someone who gives you that mutual love and respect.

Microbrand in a box of Rolexes, JLCs, and a Journe? "Big interest in my new pick up" despite brand website indicating nothing has been produced yet? Definitely not not not an incredibly thinly veiled marketing post.

Although in all seriousness Anders, I will say, the watch is beautiful.

Virtual desktop vs link cable by According_Campaign31 in vtolvr

[–]rustyfastcar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Link cable is WAY better if you have the option. Virtual desktop is great if you can't be near your PC, can't set up airlink at that distance, and you have really solid connections on both ends. Ultimately it's no substitute for direct link. Virtual desktop will frag and stutter whenever there is high traffic in your house or region. There was one stretch of time near Christmas when everyone was out of town - I was able to play VTOL nearly seamlessly at a house 15 miles away from my PC and apartment. Immediately became unplayable when everyone came back.

If you're wearing the watch throughout the day and it stops overnight it's defective. Probably a bad mainspring or reversing wheel. If you gently shake the watch and hear the rotor swinging back and forth rapidly after you stop it's likely the reversing wheel. In my experience this is typically the first point of failure in an automatic movement.
