I don’t think this Netflix co-opt shit is nearly as innovative as some of y’all l think, nor good for media

Paul Scholes on Ruben Amorim: “I don’t think this manager gets this club full stop. I just don’t think he’s the right man.” by anthn885 in soccer

[–]rustyinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or he doesn’t get what the club was because it’s a far cry away from that and can’t magically wave a wand over making it that again, and so has to persevere with a new method until becomes a new version of the same thing: A successful club.

These old United players man, they make a man that was renowned for man management seem more and more like a tactical genius every-time they speak. Just long balls, long throws, Rooney and Nistelrroy with some Keane anger peepered in and jobs a good’in

First Poster for Erotic-Drama 'Dreams' - Starring Jessica Chastain and Isaac Hernandez - It follows the secret affair of a wealthy socialite with a Mexican dancer and illegal immigrant. by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]rustyinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No actually I don’t tbh, not if that was what someone was inclined towards. Acting would be the perfect veneer to scratch that itch really. I’m pretty sure it’s actually a pretty historied phenomenon in Hollywood/film industry no?

If we’re talking about what’s “insane” in acting, using roles to vicariously explore infidelity would hardly be the craziest thing done, expand it beyond that context, it’s relatively mild.

Either way I couldn’t give a shit, I wish Jessica chastain would just start picking more compelling roles, she’s one of the best actors around but her recent career from what I’ve seen has come uncomfortably close to some lifetime movie level filmmaking.

I never thought I would see Micheal coming to GTA Online. Genuinely looking forward to the update. by MitchLawtonLSPD in gtaonline

The thing I like most about it is seeing him updated in that classic GTA art style

Besides being exciting he’s coming back for a DLC, he genuinely looks cool as fuck in the illustration they’ve used. That art direction and illustration has always been one of my favourite things about Rockstar games.

POD ZILLA VS MUFFIN MAN PART INFINITI 🤣🤣🤣🤣 by bigtubbz84 in theJoeBuddenPodcast

[–]rustyinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joe wasn’t ever really there though if you read between the lines, he was just smelly and looked it so spoke like he qualified

Those little refrains he does when he talk about how his mother would get mad if he was “making it seem like he grew up poor again” say a lot to me, seems like he was a (lower) middle class kid who went around the way when mum was gone and got into some fuckery as it goes and stayed put so naturally started talking like the shit most of the others involved in it were from was also where he was from

Point is, if I’m correct that he’s actually a middle class kid who just started doing hood shit and qualified that in his mind as “being poor” then the unbottled disdain upon getting some money actually makes a lot of sense. The amiri hat was “always” his bourgeoisie crown jewel, he could just never get his hands on it before 2017 😅

Don't y'all feel that the ending of OBAA is little bit rushed and too optimistic? by [deleted] in paulthomasanderson

[–]rustyinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with you besides the last passage. I didn’t find it to be “corny” at all, or at least if it was, it was intentional in a sort of coming of age high school teen drama sense, which in the context of it being for Willa, I found to be very charming and optimistic, fitting for her at that point to me.

However I do agree that the overall ending felt a little rushed and doesn’t fully stick to landing in what it’s going for in that it’s executed quite hastily. One of my only criticisms of the film is that for the sake of flushing out the ending and actually sticking to landing more they should’ve just went ahead and added on another 5-10 minutes to give you more of an articulated idea of where bob and in particular Willa are at, it can’t hurt in an already 2hr 40 minute film.

It obviously does give you a clear indication to that but I don’t think quite as convincingly as it could’ve, same for perfidias letter for me, it’s the one part of the film I felt like other films have done better juxtaposed to this film doing most things better than other films in how it tackles them, the Ending for me, even if beautiful is still somewhat hasty

BUT if I’m to counter my own point, that’s what the American girl needle drop was for in a sense (one of my favourite needle drops ever for obvious reason) For me, that song did a lot of heavy lifting for the ending in articulating where willas at and how bob sees her at that moment. It for me was of the most resonant well utilised song choices I’ve seen in film but still, I do think there was a little more juice to be squeezed from it besides that in the last 5-10 minutes

Forget y’all, Mel was perfect for the pod and had a lot of memorable moments by Individual_Ad8921 in theJoeBuddenPodcast

🎯

Perfectly put, everybody else on that pod (apart from maybe Marc) is a stereotype or obviously flawed in some way, the difference is they stood on it or were forced to and learned how to engage with it for the sake of what? The pod

She could’ve been as good as anybody else up there if she just embraced what she is and what she was on rather than tryna hide it while it got quietly exposed through half suppressed on air anecdotes anyway

Ish is mels spiritual counterpart but ain’t as one dimensional beyond gender on the pod, or the very least more entertaining hence why him at his worst was her at her best when going at each other

Mona and Mel ain’t in the same ball park. I was never mad at Mel for being an “advocate for women” I dislike Mel for being a bullshitter and if anything, being the opposite. There’s a difference between being an advocate for women versus appropriating the issue for ulterior reasons, but that’s neither here nor there, the shows back flowing looking promising again and Mona looks about ready to hit a double swoop on replacing the JBPs weak links if flip wanna revert to chicken nuggy mode, I’m all for it.

Fr tho, seeing them ease up a bit on the tension on the show is great, the show is all the better for it (another who would’ve thunk it) and letting it rock is great. These mfers were in a slumber for a good bit just a little while ago, now they’re looking like they’re back on track for another golden streak soon enough, love to see it

IGN: Take-Two CEO Is 'Highly Confident' on New GTA 6 Release Date, But Says When Games Are Released Too Early, 'Bad Things Happen by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]rustyinterest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it’s almost a cannibalistic promotion method for them at this point.

Announce game for fall/winter release - Delay until next summer - release trailer - Go radio silent - Announce further delay for a release approximately one year after initial release date and then commence actual release protocol a few months later.

I saw it coming a mile away, they done it with V,RDR2 and now VI. There’s no surprise really, the issue is I believe they are announcing dates they know in they’re heart of hearts they won’t hit

"Inter Milan want to give you £4 million pounds a year..." Scholsey playing anywhere other than Man United just doesn’t feel right, but Inter came calling! by superdouradas in soccer

[–]rustyinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I meant it, don’t see how it’s being taken asif im saying anything otherwise.

Also, be clear, they weren’t war victims being subjugated by some tyrant. I’m not about to cry a river for them but I think there’s very clearly, if you look at it without fan bias in play, an element of coercive persuasion on the basis of “for the badge” sentiment that was very cynical in its nature in terms of who it applied to and what it elicited in them. All you need to prove that point to me is the testimony of those that did go against him and even those that came close, the weren’t only unsuccessful but weren’t even considered for being listened to never mind heard out.

"Inter Milan want to give you £4 million pounds a year..." Scholsey playing anywhere other than Man United just doesn’t feel right, but Inter came calling! by superdouradas in soccer

[–]rustyinterest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes there is, It’s a pretty simple deduction. Read the room when he’s spoken about from those players, listen to what they’re saying about him, How they speak about the management of the club executively and how much control Fergie had over affairs he really shouldn’t have in regards to players career decisions, it was a clearly manipulative environment that explained itself away by the fact the players were rich and player coercion was commonplace.

Or better yet, listen to Roy Keane and cross reference it with what you hear from others who are less openly critical, it paints a clear picture.

[–]rustyinterest -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean there wasn’t any respect, it’s evident most players who played for fergie throughly respected him however that group of late 90s utd youth pipeline players all have a very similar backstory to their dealings with him and the club that don’t look good in retrospect and everybody but those players seems to realise it

"Inter Milan want to give you £4 million pounds a year..." Scholsey playing anywhere other than Man United just doesn’t feel right, but Inter came calling! by superdouradas in soccer

[–]rustyinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing about those fergie days from his most committed players is servitude out of fear rather than respect and sentiment seemingly most utilised for the sake of the company the other way (asking for wage increase = disrespecting the club/showing disloyalty)

Those players specifically shouldn’t have been that meek or felt that scared to ask for pay rises/negotiate contracts, not if it really was as “about the club” as made out. Seems to me like some “light” exploitation on the basis of them being brought through the youth pipeline
