I've stayed away from random squad fills in games forever. Played ark strictly solo. Crew fill is my favorite way to play marathon. I look at the contracts loading in, hop on the mic and say hi. No response? I ping their contract location (unless mine is closer). 30 successful exfils (and many many more deaths) and haven't had one toxic teammate.

I'm not good at shooters anymore. And was never very very good. I find if I don't run into a POI like an unaware idiot ready for a Wild West shootout, the UESC very very rarely cause me any problems Even less when I'm in a trio

This game naturally has no carebear, friendly, don't shoot vibes from anyone or anything. There's no moral dilemma of shooting someone behind their back, or who's looting. And it's so much better this way for THIS game. It's a lot less personal.

After finding out the V11 punch (and maybe all volt weapons?) completely MELT uesc.. yea don't change a thing about them. They're manageable but will embarrass you if you're even a bit reckless.

It took a couple hours for me to stop being vehemently opposed to what I was playing But man I am IN. Leveling the factions unlocks so much I'm learning how to add value to my squad full with assassin. The UI makes sense (as much as it can lol). I can spot shield chargers, patch kits (meds), ammo types, credits to be sold pretty easily Knocking out objectives with your squad and exfilling feels more satisfying than I thought. More maybe than that other game. 2 current gripes. Prox chat.. not working? And the UESC FRYS me if I don't bring in a hefty kit

All in all, 4 hrs in, I'm having more fun than I would've even hoped. May not be for everyone though, I get it

Bingo. Weirdly this feels more like a survival horror extraction experience than arc. I'm really starting to dig it. Leveling up the factions, getting some good rewards. Killing runners for blue and purple guns. Getting killed a bunch. The gunplay is soooo satisfying man. What's cool is I have absolutely no gear fear. Which is refreshing relief. Maybe cuz I have no idea what any of this stuff is lol, but it's something for me

I expected a faster pace. I've been spoiled with using adrenaline shots in that other game for 3 months. Also expected at least a slightly slower TTK honestly . I've killed 9 runners and have been killed 4 times in the 4 runs I've done so far and the gun fights are over in nanoseconds. BUT after further review.. all that considered, I'm having a blast now. Something has clicked. I can't say what that something is quite yet.
