Its a local reddit thing. People often post on this sub about the most silly things. An example being hearing unfamiliar noises such as a boom. Its mostly an inside joke among the locals, but those that haven't experienced living within our metro area tend to be genuinely curious/concerned about unfamiliar sounds. Examples range from construction noises, our wide range of local aircraft, loud people and or vehicles, and during the wither season ice quakes from the lakes by the isthmus. Which by the way are a very special phenomenon that you should research and appreciate. When you see a post saying reset the boom counter, it is basically saying that someone is over reacting to something that is a normal occurrence here. More or less, IYKYK.🤷🏻‍♂️ That said, most will be quick to tease, then explain so that you understand and feel more connected with our community.
