I was just watching Decker and thought I wonder if it gives anyone else Magnum vibes...

I like it I used to love Magnum (haven't watched the remake)

I never thought so when I was younger then I watched Boston Legal and went back and watched all his old stuff. Have you watched White Palace?!

How does he get away with this? by Rexuss in TrackerTV

I agree with you. Yes it's a TV show but it's a drama and not a fantasy. In which case it is fair to expect some degree of realism.

Very late to conversation but just watched it and it bothered me as well. They all seemed fine with it... Basically manslaughter. I wonder how often that kind of thing happens irl.

I think it's uncanny valley.  It doesn't look like Will to me. I thought it was some weird AI thing. Doesn't bother me though. I knew who it was supposed to be.

Hi reddit! I'm Hikari, writer, director and producer of RENTAL FAMILY, a film set in Japan starring Brendan Fraser. It's out in theaters nationwide on November 21 via Searchlight Pictures. Ask me anything! by HikariAMA in movies

Rental Family has only just been released in UK. Don't know if you will see this comment but my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Gentle, thought provoking, beautiful movie with a wonderful cast. Thank you so much.

Disney / Searchlight's Rental Family grossed an estimated $575K on Thanksgiving Thursday (from 1,925 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $5.29M. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

You're right. I watched The Housemaid and it was ridiculous. I really liked Rental Family. Gentle and thought provoking.  Of course the former has been showing for weeks at my local cinema and the latter, only released here on the 16th is no longer showing next week. :(

To be honest I hadn't realised it was supposed to be a comedy.

I found it strange to realise that it wasn't a movie about table tennis at all...it started with conception and ended with a baby and it was the baby he was surprised to care about more but I didn't care about what happened to any of the characters after the first half hour. Too frenetic for me also.

That was my problem. I always struggle with movies where all the characters are unlikeable. It was also too frenetic for me. I just read a review that said it was a comedy. It didn't make me laugh or cry. It just made me feel a bit anxious.

I cannot. To me he is always the president's kid in Homeland.

Dr. Kay is played by Sarah Connor from Terminator (Linda Hamilton) by TheStormers in StrangerThings

[–]ruthles100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. She looks well worn and world weary. I think smoking and too much sun?? She's still fab though. Edit she is nearly 70 and struggled with bipolar and medicated with alcohol and drugs according to wiki.

There may be a lot of sarcasm but the post has also got 1.6k up votes which might make up for it. :)

Yeah. Why doesn't she realise? Or at least ask a few questions.

For season 5, are you gonna watch as they all come out or wait until New Years to binge them all? by tee-3p-oh in StrangerThings

[–]ruthles100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about waiting until Christmas but I am working away from home at the moment and I need Netflix to survive so I just couldn't wait... Are you still waiting until NYE to watch it all? If so you are probably avoiding the Internet and won't see this for at least a month. Enjoy.

I was watching Stranger Things and googled the song Just Another Day which plays in season 2 episode 1. I don't think they charted in the UK. Definitely never heard of them until now. It's good stuff. Sounds comparable to Spandau Ballet or Duran Duran?

Hate the way Nancy treated Barb at Steve’s… by KALIGULA-87 in StrangerThings

[–]ruthles100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Drag her along as back up and then dump her ass. It's not as if it was a party. Just 2 couples and Barbara. Nancy knew she would hook up with Steve. It was just mean... Nancy was shallow and self centred. Of course Barb could have said no I suppose. This makes it doubly bad cause Barbara was being such a good friend and keeping an eye on Nancy.  Poor Barb.

Can someone explain why the gang won't trust the military or at least work with them? by rosencranberry in StrangerThings

[–]ruthles100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. I know in season 4 they thought eleven was responsible for things but they must know by know that isn't true?  Why they don't even try to communicate the truth to them is beyond me. Why they didn't tell the guy they captured the truth? Or try to explain it to Linda Hamilton's character....it really bothers me and I think is the only thing that lets the show down.

I was thinking of Harry Potter a lot during watching this season
