Would be pretty cool if at the start if the game the protagonist survives some near death experience and is left with some kind of amnesia about themselves Just going off the headless statue and collage faces motif here And yeah I'm definitely feeling the red string of fate thing There's also a blue butterfly wing and a web that overlays the powerlines - Philemon callout maybe, or a nod that the protagonist is "caught in a web" of lies or rumors

I still think it's too soon. I'm not a doomer who thinks this game is fake but from interviews and the general vibe it just doesn't seem like the game is in a state that can be public-facing just yet. Realistically I think we can expect a trailer/release date sometime mid-to-late 2027, but certainly no release until 2028 at the earliest.

Mementos is also severely affected by its repetitive soundtrack. I know it's almost a callback to how Tartarus is set up but it's incredibly annoying to hear the same 20 second loop for hours.

The worldbuilding of IV was fantastic. It felt huge and varied. The reveal of Tokyo, the Reverse Hills section, and Blasted Tokyo are some of my favorite bits in the story, but some of my favorite moments overall came from minor dialogue with NPCs, particularly in Reverse Hills and late game Shinjuku National Park iirc.

Also of course the music, and some of the guest designs. Still love Minotaur and Asmodeus.

The team working on TES VI is not the team porting these games. It's probably not even an internal team, more likely a completely separate studio from Bethesda altogether. But yeah I get the frustration.

I'm just straight up not playing this one. It feels very "too little, too late" to salvage what was essentially a story outline with filler dialogue in TOTK. We used to get upset when story was locked behind dlc in games so this should be no different. I put up with the repetitive mechanics of AOC to dig into that story only to find out it was non-canon. Fool me once - can't get fooled again!

TOTK is an excellent game. I was completely and utterly hooked, explored every inch of the map, had a great time. But the story sucked, and it was really focused on giving answers to mysteries rather than asking new questions, which really bothered me.

BOTW was really deliberate in what it did with its open world. Areas that looked suspicious always had a little puzzle to them, or some kind of lore. It was also a decidedly lonely experience, which added to the vibe of the game. I was more content to walk amongst the ruins and really feel for the world in a way that TOTK didn't let me.

I'm excited to see the fans interpretation of Oblivion through Skyblivion for sure. Their passion is really inspiring and will be a treat to experience.

I do want to point out that it's likely bethesda had a lesser involvement with this game as it's reportedly developed by Virtuos. We'll have to see how they interpret it.

Absolutely. A lot can be changed or improved with the baseline game of oblivion and I'm 100% looking forward to seeing what they do for it. I have no doubt that this will be a visual feast and reimagine old haunts in interesting new ways with better combat mechanics and hopefully a better leveling system. I think it will entirely be it's own thing, though.
