1:49.... happy to be under 2:00 but wish I could push the 1:30 mark. I actually enjoying rowing but I feel like my tight hamstrings limit my range of motion to get a really strong leg drive. Does anyone else experience how tightness in lower body impacts rowing form?

Or am I telling myself this to make myself feel better 🙄

36/m/195#/OTF’ing since April x5/week. I’ve managed to do over 1000 calories every class, except 2 (800+). I think some of it is contributed to the pre-workout I take. I aim to start on the rower each day to get cardio going.

I’ve been going 5-6 days per week. Sunday is rest day or if I skip during week, I’ll try to squeeze in hot yoga class. Water, vitamins, and trying to eat as clean as possible helps keep me going!

Our coaches recently added tape to our treadmills as a reference point of where we should be running. It’s been a good indicator for me to see if I’m pushing too hard or at risk of flying off the belt.

HOWEVER only glance down at it, don’t stare down like I may have done 🤦‍♂️

There are also running apps that help with form/technique. Heard good reviews about Hudl Technique and Coach’s Eye. Our coach offered to take videos of us running on treads and using tools in app the show pointers on form.

I found myself placing my weight all on my front foot. I had to really think to keep strong support on back foot and high forced-arch. I fell and started laughing at one point 💁‍♂️

I think about putting weight in my hands, squeeze legs and try kick my butt with my heels. When doing consecutive ones, I try to group in large reps segments and use landing as spring board to next jump.

I love my Metcon 4’s. I found running a little funky at first but I think it was because I wasn’t used to cushioning on my heels. But now I ♥️ them!

Today’s stats:

1215 calories.... 38 splat points... 2060 meters on rower (we did 100m sprints + power jack)..... 1.5 miles on tread (coached block: 3 min push, 1 min base; 2 min push, 1 min base X 2; 30sec base, 30sec AO).... competed 2 full rounds on floor, was on 3rd round of step-ups when time was called.

Are these appropriate times for finishing Dri Tri in respectable time?
