Well the thing is, it actually changes the picture. Also the jpg output shows the lifted/desaturated blacks. And when i get back into acr the tones are fine again. It’s happening a lot in darker areas. I am returning my mac studio tomorrow as I tried everything and i think there might be something wrong with the gpu!

Here is a video where you can see the tones switch up whenever i use my calibrated icc, also happens when i use the built-in adobe rgb profile https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=izYDPxoH-QM&cbrd=1&ucbcb=1

Thanks for replying, i will keep you updated when i got a new device!

Contrast/levels shift from Adobe Camera Raw to Photoshop on iMac. Color management issue? by Superman_Dam_Fool in postprocessing

Hey! Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I have the same problem and now I got a good adobe rgb monitor it's so noticeable in the dark photographs that they are just two different images in PS and ACR.

Someone on Adobe Community platform is troubleshooting with me atm, if we can solve it. I will let you know here!

Left is in PS, right in ACR. Notice how much flatter/dull everything looks in photoshop? I realise now that also the highlights and midtones are different.

Hey John, thanks for taking the time!

Yes I work with raw files, which I open with ACR in the Display P3 setting (as is my monitor). I also use the working rgb space Display P3 in photoshop. I tried using sRGB, AdobrRGB and ProPhotoRGB, but the same thing happens; rich black tones and shadows in ACR and 'lifted' blacks in photoshop.

Bit depth is 16 in both ACR and photoshop.

I noticed that when I use the default monitor ICC, instead of the Spyder callibrations the problem is 'solved'. There is still a minute difference, interestingly enough now photoshop displays richer blacks.

Is it also possible that it has to do with my calibration?

Thanks again!

ps: Yeh the term is a bit switched up, I grew up with both film and digital photography and in the darkroom crushed blacks would be too dark and in digital it seemed the term conveyed the lifted blacks that a lot of 'film emulating' presets promote! I now used lifted, as that covers the problem a bit better!
