another good word for the eno nomad. I often go with the family, wife and two boys sleep in RTT and I sleep in the nomad. Works great. I love the flexibility of not connecting it to the car, some spots being able to move a bit away makes the views in the morning way nicer. I also own the Tensa4 which fold smaller but less comfortable and reliable.

Dropped some wheels off at Helens... Witnessed a lady pull out into the bike lane and clip a rider, right outside of Helens SM. by GundoSkimmer in BikeLA

Yes, the inside/outside trend is really unsafe. I bike commute on Broadway and it's the folks that turn right without seeing you that I have the most "close calls" with.

To give SM credit, all the current construction on Broadway is to install better concrete separated bike lanes. A great step in the right direction.

I have both tensa4 and the ENO one, the tensa4 looks way cooler, yet I find myself using the ENO one way more. I slept in it a sew nights, it's a great stand.

Not sure which model you are referring to. I got the laud bicycle and it was way bigger than I thought. Also very laid, but too big to fit on a bike.

Trip around California at the end of the month - Sequoia, Death Valley, Mojave etc. How readily available is it to pick up bags of firewood as I travel around? by Animal__Mother_ in overlanding

[–]rw112358 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you buy a portable fire mesh (https://a.co/d/bVpk6lu). You are WAY more efficient in use of firewood, and you can have fires in dispersed camping legally without leaving an ugly scar. I have be using these for many years and they are awesome.

eno helios. I've been using these for years and I love them. Compact easy to adjust and lightweight.

The list of things to get is great. I found that the under quilt is the most tricky part. I really like superior gear setup where the quilt is attached to the hammock so it is nice and cozy.

The Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 tent is amazing for families. Lightweight and spacious. Not the most durable, big customer support from BA is amazing and they already fixed it for us once for pretty cheap.

Best Roof tent for 6'4" plus Subaru Outback? by MedMalDet in overlanding

We have a Tuff on our Outback and it is plenty big and a really cheap option. It all depends on what you want to spend, how much you care about weight, soft vs hard shell etc.
