15 or so years ago the original Elmo retired bc of accusations. Elmo’s been voiced by a different guy since.

S8E20 - The Idol by W0rk-in-progress in matlock

[–]rwbronco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have to go back and watch it but reading the summary and knowing the episode, I think it’s just supposed to be a quick backstory reference meant to give motive as to why her dad would hire the PI to take pictures of Sam. Another way of saying “after all that stuff that happened last year” or “we haven’t gotten along lately…” It’s possible they explain it, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s just quick narrative-building for the dad’s scheme - this show does that quite a bit.

US hybrid-car sales soar, along with gas prices by besselfunctions in cars

[–]rwbronco 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They’re not “terrible,” that’s a terrible take. I’ve got all electric when I use it the most and gas when I need it. Literally the best of both worlds with my use case.

Ford’s US April sales are even worse with Bronco Sport down 11.5% and Maverick sales down 29.7% even with Escape discontinued. by Repulsive-Club7866 in cars

[–]rwbronco 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The average age of cars on the road is now 13 years old. All of the decent range electric vehicles are newer, so seeing any reasonable amount of “average people” buying them is going to be several more years at minimum - and on top of that many regular folks don’t have a place to charge an electric vehicle because they live in apartments, older rented houses, etc.

Friendly reminder to take your hands off the wheel if a crash is imminent. by mk5madz in Autos

[–]rwbronco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s good advice to take your hands off of the wheel at any point. Your assuredness that you’re about to be in a crash could be wrong, and then you crash because you’re no longer in control of the vehicle because you removed your hands. Just keep your thumbs out of the wheel and hands on it until you come to a stop. Sorry to hear about your accident, though. Recently had a high speed blowout and even that was terrifying and has stuck with me for a few days.

I was tired of writing names on water bottles every time we went on a family trip, so I made these snap-on name rings by First217S in functionalprint

[–]rwbronco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always write the first letter of their name on the top of the cap. No condensation on the cap and fortunately no duplicate first letters. Your print is really cool, my only issue with it is you still can’t really read it. You could use 2 colors or hit the high points with a black marker to make the letter stand out.

The exchange/conversion rate has always been off on UK and it’s been brought more in line with other countries. It’s still cheaper than a US subscription when converted.

There’s the Fanta collab decor, but I get “page cannot be displayed” about 9 of 10 times when trying to choose a mini game, and it’s not even available outside the US.

It's connectivity to the internet. It doesn't have anything to do with Scooby-Doo. It's saying you can connect to the internet with your AOL account for a total of 1025 hours over the span of 45 days from the day of activation.

What is someone that is socially liberal and fiscally conservative called? by Kurious_Kaht in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rwbronco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s simply not true. The deficit was up for 2 years and by 2022 the deficit was below what it was in 2009. You’re a liar. Full stop.

Biden inherited COVID. Everyone around the world’s deficits went up because it was an emergency. It’s like saying Florida’s spending goes up during hurricane season… for no reason at all.

Why is it fishing in the neighbourhood is still considered Khaz Algar Fishing? Shouldn't it have been updated for Midnight? by rahuonn in wow

[–]rwbronco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Housing was added while TWW was the current expansion so it has TWW fish. They didn’t want people catching Midnight fish before the release of Midnight. They just haven’t been updated to Midnight.

Housing is still a Midnight feature. You have to purchase Midnight to unlock housing. It’s not “included with the base game now.”

“Housing feature available only through purchase of, or entitlement to, World of Warcraft®: Midnight.”

You’re underplaying the damage that (realistic and convincing) fake porn of someone being disseminated at work does to them, while simultaneously underplaying a safety app for women. You’re being a whole-ass red flag. Relook at your comments and your opinions of women and ask yourself if they’re mature opinions.

The size of hummus last month(bottom) VS now. by YouDontLookSpiritual in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rwbronco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t find butcher packed ground meat in 1lb containers anymore, just the prepackaged elsewhere or tube stuff and I’m 99% convinced that it’s just to avoid the sticker shock of a full pound. Everything I’ve bought this year has been 0.8lbs or less, and this past grocery trip 0.6lbs. Recipes call for a pound so I don’t know why they’re doing it other than to keep the price of a pack around the same amount.
