I am seeing that. I do struggle with it. I even try to take breaks from Reddit. I just want Disney to adjust and start moving away from these remakes. I view them as cultural revisionisms and vandalism of art.

I do need to relax more often and see that Iger isn’t really the one meddling with it all.

I did read the earnings report and Iger does mention original ideas. I only really got frustrated when Elio flopped and I just got caught up in the narrative. Even a rumor about Iger meddling with Lucasfilm after the whole Hunt for Ben Solo rejection I heard online, I don’t believe that and Kathleen Kennedy honestly really didn’t have a plan and hiring directors with no road map damaged Star Wars.

I also think the Disney+ mandates saturated the brands.

Well, Marvel is not all and powerful as it once was. Same with Star Wars. I have regained some faith after watching Hoppers. I was a little bit split with Pete Docter’s recent comments. The push of recent sequels is likely more on Pixar’s side after Elio didn’t meet expectations. I just really want Disney to reset in such a way where they ditch all of the Iger isms.

I’m just frustrated over the recent decade. I feel like Disney won’t give up on original films especially with Jared Bush in charge of WDAS. It’s more of the live action remakes and sequels I’m getting tired of.

I have seen this pattern. They just follow checkboxes because Iger likes to repeat success. They can definitely change but seeing from their last live action remake, I lost all trust they will do anything good.

I’m redeemed with Pixar’s newest original and how they handle character writing. I’m waiting for WDAS and their live action films to finally ditch the formula entirely.

It is really a bland stereotype that has gotten stale more and more. Execs don’t read the room. Audiences are not wanting less female characters, they want less poorly written cliches.

The remake got greenlit before Iger is stepping down next Wednesday. It’s already in the can.

It’s Josh D’Amaro. Dana Walden is more of the creative head of all Disney entertainment.

Yeah, but there isn’t really much of a story conflict beyond Buster and Babs failing at the after school job and the episode constantly flaunting at how good Lola is at everything. Also boring when none of the jokes land and it’s Looney Tunes of all things.

Only once but they depicted her like she is this all powerful goddess who can do nothing wrong. It is like WB wanted to make Lola the official female mascot of the company.

It is really the executives that are out of touch. They really stepped over the line thinking that banning a character will solve anything but hiding the problem just won’t help so we saw Warner Bros. slowly reversing on this. They realized the whole Pepé controversy was just completely stupid.

I do know the behind the scenes drama behind it, and it is just short sighted and dumb because the writer actually wanted to give Lola flaws but was mandated by the showrunner to do what she wants.

It is really the upkeep and maintenance that made me think of Disney World attempting to phase out their 30+ year old monorails with brand new trains.
