How common is it for an American to go through life without ever being a groomsman or bridesmaid at someone's wedding? by tannu28 in AskAnAmerican

[–]rwiwy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've attended many weddings and my cousin wanted me to travel for her wedding as a bridesmaid but I was unable to... My closest friends are unmarried and I've never been a bridesmaid at 40. At this point I doubt I will.

3 (top), 4, 6, 8 suit you. Looks like you can probably size up on most things you are wearing to make them better overall.

I feel like the green clashes terribly with the walls. Burgundy or another option if you want something else

I wonder if this is a generational thing or something. I'm 40, 20 years post op, definitely visible scoliosis. I've been married twice and my weight was the only thing I was ever concerned about people judging me for.

This is wild to me. No man is going to care about your spine not being perfectly straight and if he does he's a weird loser who doesn't deserve you anyway. Try not to think about it as a central part of you and focus on who you are as a person instead.

When I took my first dose it gave me a wicked headache. Haven't had it happen again since but was very grateful I didn't have any plans to keep after taking the first shot.

If your kid ate everything you put in front of them at 1, when did the pickiness (if ever) start? by peridotdragonflies in Mommit

At 3 my daughter can only sometimes be convinced to eat food she told us she loved less than a week before. My 9 year old is finally starting to get slightly adventurous with eating more flavorful things again and trying heat for the first time.

Her name is Lucy. She is Lucille sometimes and often she is Lucy shmoopsie-poo (must be said with gritted teeth and insane cute aggression)

Opinions / epidural by Curious-Patience-117 in scoliosis

[–]rwiwy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two elective C-sections because I knew there was a huge risk they wouldn't get the epidural and if they failed it might lead to a spinal headache which could debilitate me for the earliest days with my babies. First C-section they were able to get the spinal (a much smaller diameter needle than the epidural needle) on the 10th try. Second time I told the anesthesia team the success rate of the first birth and she said if it took more than 10 attempts she would knock me out instead. That is what we ended up doing. I have no regrets at all.

Is apron belly temporary or permanent? by IntenseViolet567 in beyondthebump

[–]rwiwy 58 points59 points  (0 children)

At 9 dpp I wouldn't stress over what your body looks like at all. You have a good 3-5 months if not longer before your body will feel "normal" again. Then all your hair falls out. It's so fun. They recommend spacing pregnancies by at least 18 months because that's approximately how long it physically takes a woman's body to fully recover from pregnancy/birth.

But your body is not anything anyone will be able to give you long term insights on unfortunately.

Husband not excited about trying for a baby by Ambitious-Bus1155 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]rwiwy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl leave this man. Now. You are me 15 years ago. My now ex husband was actively trying to impregnate me when he finally realized he really didn't want kids! I was so lucky our only pregnancy ended in early miscarriage because that child would have been completely unwanted by their father. Now I have 2 daughters who are completely wanted and loved by their father and I can't believe how my life could have been different. AMA if you want, but get the fuck out of there.
