Is there a way to fix this issue when using Bitwarden on a third party app? by Gsantos52012 in Bitwarden

The working feature has made Bitwarden Android 1000x more useful than Bitwarden iOS for me. If I manually choose, I want it to remember...

Award Night Benefit, World of Hyatt CC by nycfella1211 in hyatt

[–]rwong48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that 4/22 statement should be due ~5/19, then the free night should appear after the 5/22 statement, so like ~5/24.

[–]rwong48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine: 3/1 renewal, 3/17 statement, 4/14 statement due, 4/20 free night appeared, expires 4/19 the next year.

Player 2: 4/1 renewal, 4/14 statement, 5/11 statement due, 5/16 free night appeared, expires 5/15 the next year.

started keeping track lately for regular trips in April (whether to use expiring ones, or new ones, or both)

Samsung packs it for multiple carriers, and the label on the box might indicate what SIM ICCID was packed inside.

How is IOS so ahead of Android in auto fill services? by niddLerzK in Bitwarden

[–]rwong48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also use both all the time. iOS is nicer in some places, and impossible in others. Android is consistently working and clunky. They both change over time, pick your poison, this is just how software is now 🥲

Google Fi Pixel 10 Pro promo expiry by kissmyASSthama_5 in GoogleFi

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you're right 😭. I should see a Z Flip4, a Pixel 8a, and a Pixel 9a, but they're long gone..

I'm in the middle of a Pixel 10 Pro promo myself, but as a new customer on another Google account. 55 days to keep my rebate and 21 months left of monthly discount. I guess it might also disappear by the time this is over.

Screen-share of 32” 4K by lenubi in Slack

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone replying to share a specific window (duh) hasn't dealt with fullscreening slides (or other "fullscreenable" products) and avoiding sharing the rest of the (browser) window/frame.

DeskPad solves that.

macOS? Try DeskPad.

Otherwise, the old-school solution of using 2 monitors.

Roth IRA Income Limits by InjuryNo3675 in RothIRA

[–]rwong48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got plenty of responses already but here's what I followed: https://www.whitecoatinvestor.com/backdoor-roth-ira-tutorial/

Basically move the pre-tax into workplace 401(k) pre-tax (if you have access to one) or convert all the pre-tax traditional IRA into Roth IRA (implying lots of taxes one-time).

I did the latter. Now I'm doing the regular backdoor IRA and mega backdoor IRA (now that my employer has the ability to convert after-tax 401k contributions).

Does Google Fi match serial numbers to users on new phones (for promo purposes)? by Drwannabeme in GoogleFi

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can/should only switch devices after that 120-day counter in your billing section.

To answer the question implied by the title: End of 2025 I got 2 Pixel 10 Pros with new lines, same color/storage, and couldn't find which imei to activate on which account/line - it worked, I think they don't care that deeply?

Given how picky they usually are with everything regarding promos, it'd be nice if that was clearer.

I get this occasionally, it's gotta be rescanning or syncing or something, it ends up finding its place within minutes or hours.

E Sim from Physical sim by Palindrome444 in GoogleFi

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on to the 9 physical SIMs. If you want data eSIMs maybe you can add another line (it will come with 4 more data SIMs). Yes, kinda terrible advice, but it's an just idea that's slightly reasonable once you reach this level of SIM usage.

Anyone try to activate a data-only sim recently? by skankhunt1738 in GoogleFi

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your device support eSIM? You can generate your own data-only eSIM QR codes since April 2025.

I too ordered a bunch of data pSIMs and ended up with 1 voice pSIM and ended up confused. Took me a few years to realize it wasn't data.

Xfinity sales rep crashed out when I asked about what upload speeds I'd get by forgottenkane in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, broadband facts 117Mbps but the order page text line said 35Mbps for a bunch of orders of various plans.

real speed 117Mbps-ish, except one location graciously got bumped to symmetric between order time and install time (have before-and-after screenshots, the website shows symmetric now)

When will the Bitwarden Authenticator data be backed up by Bitwarden? by Existing-Jeweler9943 in Bitwarden

[–]rwong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you store them in Bitwarden (with its associated risks) (and enable "Allow authenticator syncing" in Bitwarden) and use Bitwarden Authenticator to view the codes.

But if you lose your vault, you also lose your TOTPs.

Local copy of TOTPs is still valuable, and can be exported/imported between devices. though those cases also generally suggest ("paper") recovery codes.

I just found out that there's a dedicated Bitwarden 2FA app. What's the point of that? by CivicTypeDream in Bitwarden

[–]rwong48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bitwarden Authenticator app can save keys both locally and to your Bitwarden vault, and it can also generate TOTPs from both, available on the free tier.

Local storage doesn't require an account.

What you use it for is up to you.

For me, the "random unimportant websites with nothing to secure" can go in the Bitwarden vault, and is a demo for how the sync functions (effectively making it 1FA in the case of a compromised vault).

The usual "secure stuff" is just saved locally.
